Series Thread NLCS Braves vs Dodgers

Braves aren't done yet

Bellinger got lucky on a fastball at his eyeballs, otherwise we're celebrating a win.

Dodgers have used their pen a lot. Weather the shit storm tomorrow. Pitch Ynoa and Smyly. Get to the Dodgers pen and see what happens
 
I know I initially was mad at Luke but after watching it back....can’t blame him. I blame it on Georgia sports being cursed.

The pitch to Pollack was a great pitch that found a hole. The Bellinger pitch was 97 at his eyes....Bellinger hits that pitch out 1 out of 100 tries.

Georgia sports are just cursed

It's Charles Barkley's fault. He guaranteed the Braves would win during NBA pregame. Any time he guarantees something, the opposite happens (like legit, he's almost always wrong when he gives a "guarantee".)
 
I've seen several mentions of Smyly. Snitker hasn't come out & said he's pitching tomorrow, has he? That guy is at least a 2 homer guarantee for the opposition.
 
A major aspect that really hurt the Braves yesterday was d'Arnaud grounding into 2 double plays. I know there's nothing can be done about it, & he's been good behind the plate, but his bat & weak arm (yeah, I know pitchers aren't holding runners like they did in the days of yore) are really problematic.

I think everyone, including him was surprised. You could tell from his previous swings during that at bat that he was basically looking for a Hail Mary hit. He got it, but 99 other times that’s a big whiff.

Braves got lucky on a misplaced fly ball that was very catchable, a missed called strike 3 against Pederson and a seeing eye ground ball off of Seager's glove - all in the 4th inning

Agree. My son and I were watching the game together and when Bellinger swung so hard at the first pitch that he went down to one knee, I told my son..."he's trying to hit out when he should just be trying to get a hit. That's a bad strategy".

Then he hits the home run and I said..."guess I'll just shut up". lol

I thought sure this series was over and the Dodgers were going to get swept. After the 7th inning, I was thinking about the congratulations post that I was going to make for Braves fans.

I figured the Dodgers had squandered the first 2 games of the series by not getting the 1 more hit they needed in each game. Add to that the fact that Freddie Freeman had a horrible 2 games at the plate. I mean, you're within 1 hit of winning the games and Freeman striked out in every one of his first 7 at bats in the series and you can't get 1 of those games?

Then, they pretty much the exact start they wanted. Great defensive play by Lux gets the crowd going, then they jump out to a 2-0 lead so now the crowd is really into it, and have Morton on the ropes...only to end up giving up the lead and falling behind 5-2.

Still not convinced they'll win...but at least it's a series now.

Only real saving grace is I have tickets for game 6, and the Braves have an incredible record with me in attendance, and undefeated in playoff games other than Wild Card games
