Oakland A's Relocating

You gotta know your market. The Yankees' model works because of their market. The Yankees' model also works in Boston, LA, and whatever the Angels currently claim to be.

I would think LV would be pretty hungry for baseball and its not a major stretch travel wise from the neighboring states.
Or anywhere. There will be people from all over the country who will say "hey the (insert team) are playing away in Vegas, let's make a weekend out of it"

Plus, this gives the added bonus of more people from NY/NJ coming for @Peter Gozintite to deal with.

Might want to review current populations.
7.75 million in the Bay Area. Vegas around 646k give or take a few. But another site says 2.9 million. Travellers?

Gonna have to build a top too. 120 degree day games in July. Oakland 75 degrees.

At least 7.5 million of those are Giants fans, so they would be net ahead.
Exactly! Been that way since 1968 although the Giants at the frozen tundra of Candlestick didn't always draw.

Who said Las Vegas has a lot people and I might want to review populations of Vegas and Bay Area?

Clark County 2.25 million but in 8000 square miles. Vegas itself 646K . Still well behind the Bay Area. Even Sacramento county at 1.5 million but in 994 square miles. Sacramento and Vegas not much different for baseball imo. Not many outside Vegas itself are going to see the A's for 81 games consistently. Raiders in 8 games and Golden Knights in maybe 15 to 16K a night that works and the Knights have been good since Day 1. A's long term will be a dud in Vegas but good luck.

Problem with that is that a weekend is 3 games for baseball not 1 game like NFL or hockey. You need the visitors to go to 3 games. No way. One game maybe but not 3.

A lot easier to cover 8-9 home games with visitors than it is 81.

646k is the city proper ... 2.227 Million is the Metro Area. People will travel to Las Vegas to see their team play.

Yeah, looking at just city proper is dumb. There’s only around 500k actually living in Atlanta, yet the metro has over 6 million. Which is why it just made so much sense for the Braves to move to the Burbs
