Official CFP Matchups

LOL, only a t-shirt fan from Michigan would find that to be an unusual story, lol, my graduating class is literally in my user name. My wife was cute, but no supermodel, we are divorced. No private plane, sorry. There are plenty of folks on this message board that are well educated...you just aren't one of them.
It is your story -- tell it however you'd like. That is what the internet is for -- you can be anything you'd like. At least make it believable though.

I'm sure Alabama is a good school for the South. They'd rank dead last in the B1G in academics. I don't think people grasp how difficult it is to get into alot of the B1G schools.
GTFO … “for the south” like you northerners are so superior. I loved litigating against northern lawyers who thought they were dealing with southern rubes. We’d kick their asses back to your shitty weather and ugly women.

I mean from my perspective I could say you must be a dumbass for only going to a state school ranked 23rd … too bad you couldn’t get into Vanderbilt like me. But see, that would be stupid because I assume you got a god education like most students at any decent state school.

I wonder if Ohio State would loan us their WR corp for the Georgia game. I'm not so sure we are going to run the ball on Georgia and i'm not sure we have the talent at WR to stretch the field on them.

Going to be a fun game to watch regardless. Can't wait to see what they come up with on offense. I'm guessing we will have to come up with some of the same type of plays we came up with against Iowa.

You obviously don't understand my hate for ohio state ... I don't want their fucking WRs. We will beat Georgia with what we have or we will lose trying. @Rolltide94, I have a BS Degree in Finance from Michigan ... it doesn't make me smarter than anyone from Alabama. I am about to reside in a tundra paradise and my old ass will be shoveling snow.

Northerners aren't superior, the schooling, as a whole, is superior in the B1G. There are a select few in the South with a solid academic reputation and elite schools like Vandy. Alabama is definitely not one of them though.

I graduated with a 3.85 and had a 31 on my ACT and didn't get into UM (I was "wait listed"). That's how ridiculous it is to get into some of the B1G schools. Northwestern is even harder to get into than UM.

I despise OSU as much as any UM fan, but I also know what we will need to beat Georgia and a WR to stretch the field, the way Jameson Williams did for Bama is what we need.

After seeing the game plan we came up with against Iowa -- i'm confident we will be coming with something new for the CFP game. Will be interesting to see what they come up with.

Anybody whose watched 'My Cousin Vinny' knows that can't be true.

So you use to kick it with Dabo Swinney ?!

Dabo is a class behind me by year, but we had some classes together, he was working as a GA for Stallings when he was getting his MBA and I worked in the SID office, so I knew him more from that, not a lot of free time for GA's so he didn't hit a lot of the social events. Dabo was probably the least well-known player in our class, we had a few others, the only starter off the '92 team was Matt Hammond. I knew him better when he was working for AIG Real Estate in Birmingham before he went to Clemson in the early 2000's when I was working for a Developer in Pelham.

I do think the Big 10 is overrated as a whole.

Jury is still out on the SEC, but I lean on them being overrated as well.

I harken LSU's early loss to UCLA.
I've always felt that "conferences" were not accurately "rated" for the most part. Too many times the whole conference is perceived as "bad" only because of the bottom or perceived "good" only because of the top. JMO.

The only way to potentially avoid a rematch of Georgia vs Bama is hope someone beats them. If they don’t then everyone is going to be screaming to expand the playoff. Either way CFB wins I guess.
Not me. I did in 2011 because neither had to beat another team in a playoff game prior to playing each other. They got the right to play each other via a popularity contest. This way they damn well earn the right on the field in a semifinal game against teams from other conferences. Big difference to me.

Second time in a decade that TCU cost Baylor a shot at the playoffs
That's azz backards isn't it Hu? Baylor beat TCU in 2014 which cost TCU a spot. Okie Lite beat Baylor that year didn't they?

My son and his frat brothers had GPAs and ACTs higher than yours ... they chose Bama. Son going to med school. His frat brothers going med school, law school, MBAs, great jobs with Dell, Mercedes, etc. The point you are missing isn't that B1G schools are harder to get into ... they objectively are. So are the schools in the ACC and PAC. You're posting as if people getting degrees from southern schools are somehow lesser than those at your northern schools that are "ranked" higher. All my cousins went to Illinois. They are farmers. Damn good ones. I know millionaires and billionaires who went to SEC schools, and I know broke ass losers who went to B1G schools (and Ivy, and Vandy). The point is that when you come on here putting down certain schools in general, you are missing the point that anyone can get a good education wherever they go so long as they search it out.

One last thing and I am done on the subject ... college, for the most part is a scam. I should know, I am paying about $72K per year in tuition for one son, and I know he can learn what he is learning on the Internet or as an intern. But, I also know the value of the paper on the wall. And once you get your first job, that paper doesn't mean much specifically, but means a ton generally. I pay $72K per year for him to make connections, have a shit ton of fun, and learn a little along the way. He's doing all three, but I listed those in the order of importance and so far it's working out quite well.

I grew up in snow country, now I live in Florida so that I don't have to shovel. I don't even really like being cold anymore....although I'll still wear shorts when these Florida pussies are putting on their long johns.

I agree, you can get a good education anywhere. When you go to apply for a job though - the degree from U of M or the majority of B1G schools, just like with Vandy, will get you in the door of many jobs, where the Alabama degree will not. The average salary you will make out of school with a UM degree will be much higher, because the top companies in the US are holding job fairs at UM recruiting their graduates.

So yes, I agree -- you are going to have kids who underachieve or drop out of every school. Hell, the Unabomber went to Michigan - the opportunities you will have because of a degree at a B1G schools will be exponentially higher than the opportunites you will get at lesser schools, which Alabama is a lesser school, in regards to academics. As I stated -- Alabama would rank dead last in the B1G in academic standing. It doesn't mean Alabama isn't a good school, it just isn't the caliber of B1G schools.

I'm just happy to be here guys.

Most people get a job near where they went to school. Most UM grads are in the Midwest...Chicago, Detroit, Indy. Most UA grads are in the South...Birmingham, Nashville, Atlanta. If you think a degree from UM would have played better in my first job interview at a firm in Birmingham, I don't know what to tell you, you are just dumb. You are also dumb if you don't think the top companies in the US are holding job fairs at UA...the largest employer of UA business grads is Daimler AG.

I was a Director with a Fortune 100 company based out of Michigan....Midland to be precise. I got that job 15 years out of grad school, nobody I interviewed with gave a flying fuck where I got my MBA...or honestly that I had one, except to make college football small talk.

While UM grads definitely get job offers from many of the top companies in the Midwest, especially with the Big 3 automotive companies that are headquartered here. Their job fairs are national events with recruiters from across the United States. Over 50% of the 50,000+ students at UM are from out of state and they have over 5,000 international students.

Look up the average starting salary for a Michigan grad and the average starting salary for an Alabama grad - then tell me that it doesn't matter.

And congrats on the Daimler AG, Michigan only has Ford, GM and Chrysler to fall back on, oh yeah, and Google, who cherry picks a ton of MBA grads too, as it was started by a Michigan grad with a PhD in Computer Science Larry Page (and Sergey Brin).

Michigan opens door for grads that other schools do not. It is why it is the #1 ranked Public University in the US.

Side note: Props on your job with Midland Dow - great company. I was offered a finance job out of college by them, but didn't want to live in Midland, so I went with GM in Detroit.

I'll just leave this here...

Where most Michigan grads live.

Obviously, this is more diverse than Alabama, particularly because of the large international student pop, but the fact remains that it is also a state school serving a state and most of its graduates stay in the state.

I never said for a second that Michigan wasn't a better school than Alabama, but if you're looking at average salaries you're not getting the whole picture. The average starting salary in Michigan is also higher than in Alabama. Michigan is also better than most Ivy League schools as well because there is a lot less public sector employment and Michigan is a state with a large business base....doesn't make Michigan better than an Ivy...or worse for that matter. The fact remains that the education you get at any university is not significantly different and is largely determined by you.

I didn't want to live in Midland either...that's why I quit when they wanted me to take a promotion there. Nothing against Michigan, other than my dislike of snow and preference for flip flops.

Side note: Bernie Madoff went to Alabama, but he doesn't do much hiring these days.
