What video game is this?
OOTP. Out of the Park Baseball.

Computer strategy as opposed to hand-eye coordination on a controller.

I like it for being able to choose any year in history as a starting point and create your own fictional baseball history.

You make a world where the DH never happens. Ted Williams never misses time because of World War 2. Babe Ruth stays in Boston. Whatever.

Can you make it where a bunch of Cardinals players never did drugs?

How about where Derek Jeter was good defensively?
You can go into "cheat mode" and manually adjust certain abilities and potential of players.

So you could lower a players HR Power and HR Power Potential if you wanted to get rid of the "steroid era".

That would take a lot of work and time though.

:dhd:

You can also "cheat mode" adjust personality traits. Make a player care more about winning than getting paid, give a lazy player an insane work ethic, even make a Barry Bonds like the media.

wow, I'm looking at it now and I'd better stay far away from something like that or I could disappear into that rabbit hole for months. :omg:

It can be crazy addicting!

Some people play with 100% realism, using real life lineups and transactions.

I already know how that turned out. So, I let the CPU do what the fuck ever and see what happens.
