PAC News

UNLV has had zero success ever. You think that program is going to attract quality coaches just because they jump into a watered down Pac 12? lol. You are delusional.
It's the POTENTIAL.

Picture this; UNLV to join the PAC-12 2024, this entire season all the cab's in vegas, all the billboards on the strip start promoting UNLV to the PAC-12 in 2024. You'd instantly attract fans both diehards and casuals. Hell you may even get some casuals who are visiting to tune in or pay attention to UNLV in their first years in the PAC because they were there visiting Vegas and saw all the promotions.

The marketing could be overwhelming in Las Vegas for a P5 program. I am not saying UNLV turns into a national powerhouse in one season. I am saying them joining would create a ton of energy in the city and that is the momentum for them to continue to build within. And in 5 years UNLV looks completely different then they do now.

With today's technology and marketing tactics and social media, you can easily promote a program and hype it up to something big. Add in the potential money that could be shoved into UNLV's program and their ceiling is sky high.

What are the chances of that though. They've pretty much never shown anything ever that they are "trying to actually get it together" Why would anyone expect that would happen now?

Like I said, UNLV would be like Temple was in the Big East if they jumped into the Pac 12. I don't think that's a outlandish statement to make at all.
There has been major efforts in the last few years. The state mandicdating that they get to play in the Raiders stadium, or they would have blocked the funding was big. The number for attendance were actually way up from previous years.

They built a bad ass football facility recently and their recruiting has been better.

The Athletic dept has been too quick on the draw to replace coaches, when it hasnt always been their fault for lack of success, and no one has been given enough time in the last few regimes.

All I am saying, is the stadium is there, the facilities are there, the market is hungry and waiting for a half ass respectable product to support.

If an NFL team can find Las Vegas attractive to move their franchise to, I am sure college football can be a success there as well. It's a sleeping giant.

Or UNLV joins the Pac 12 and craters even deeper, like Temple did when they joined the Big East, the more realistic of scenarios.

Utah had a TON of momentum already going for them when they joined the Pac 12, UNLV has the opposite of that. It would be a gigantic uphill climb for them.

Once again you are comparing Pro sports to a college program that has had a dreadful track record, not even close to being in the same universe of comparability.

UNLV has far more potential support than Utah could ever dream of. UNLV get's partnered with some of that mega money in Vegas and it's a program that could literally be built within 3 years. I don't see how this can't be comprehended.

I don't think joining a upgraded conference would be the right way to go at the moment. It would be better to try to build some momentum first and then make that move.

I dont know that I love my allies here, but the fact that I have some, warms my cold dead heart

CFB is moving more and more toward pro-sports anyways. With NIL forget about a teams/programs past, with NIL a program could grow overnight and Vegas has the best soil in the country at this point.

If you look at the potential for support, Utah has already maxed out. No one knows what UNLV could have, because they have never been consistent.

Higher level recruits are not suddenly going to start going to UNLV, they might be able to pick up some leftovers with NIL after the big boys feast. I mean it would be better than what they've been getting but you aren't going to see 4/5* recruiting lining up to go there before the already established powers.

*******UNLV TO THE PAC-12******* advertisement on their new sphere. That hits every visitor, it hits social media because that sphere is on my timeline randomly and I don't even follow it. The reach to promote UNLV would be insane.

If UNLY could even keep some of the local talent, it would be a huge improvement.

Really? With the potential marketing has on the strip and the extra fun that could be had during the off-season? Dude with NIL what it is, these players could be partying it up with hot ass Instagram influencers at the Wynn during the Summer.

Man, Oregon get's rejected by the B1G and you are really reaching to pimp the new watered down Pac 12.

You're stuck in some midwest industrial city of Columbus, Ohio....Open your eyes and see the potential a growing and vibrant place like Vegas could bring to a 18-22 year old.

The top guys still want to go places that have proven to groom NFL talent. UNLV is not that in any realm. Even with NIL its still basically the same schools feasting, they all have good NIL programs already.

4/5* guys are still going to mostly end up at the powerhouses. You might see a few stragglers here and there but it's mostly still just that.

Youre just mad that you could only them by 30.
