To me, the more this goes into April or later, the more it seems UO and UW are waiting to see what will happen in the B1G once they have a new commissioner. This would make sense as the networks aren't giving any numbers of substance until they know that UO and UW are able to sign a GOR.

You had 2 PAC writers (Canzano and Wilner) state this date, truthfully I don’t know if they said could or would but they said this date as way to fend off the negative ideas that not having the deal done yet brought.

Honestly given what’s circulating around, why wouldn’t you release something if it quiets these negative rumors that continue to circulate and pick up steam? The longer it takes, the worse it looks. This is lively hoods at stake here.

And lol comparing your union job to this. None of these networks NEED the PAC as I’d bet your work needed you and members of your union.

And for the record, I hope the PAC stays together. The only real benefit to my school of a PAC implosion is that it (the PAC) can’t kill off the B12. But adding another 4 members 2,000 miles plus away is not some grand benefit to WVU.

Ohh it sucks man. Not that I didn’t know WVU was already fucked. But I’m reduced to hoping you and the B1G start grabbing up ACC schools so we can eventually get some rivals that are closer and aren’t spending all our time in the central and western time zones.

Last week, Arizona president Robert C. Robbins told me in an interview he’s confident the deal is imminent, will be “better” than the Big 12’s financially and will be “majority” linear.

This week, plugged-in New York Post sports media writer Andrew Marchand reported that “a deal with ESPN is not close,” and Apple is the most likely company to pay them Big 12 money but it would be for an “all-Apple deal.”

It has now become impossible with this topic to distinguish between what is real, what is propaganda, what is misinformation and what is naivete. Therefore, I officially give up trying to answer this question. Let me know when the credits roll.

I don't know, trips to those states for hiking, canyoneering, etc. would be awesome. I'd make that trip every other year!

I've read just about everything I come across on the subject (mainly because it's massive troll bait here) and the truth is this thing could swing either way.

I'm convinced the main thing slowing this deal is no one knows the commitment of Oregon and Washington because if they did this deal would be done by now. The networks/streamers want assurances such as a GOR for UO and UW but they don't want to give them without an out if the B1G comes calling. In return, the networks/streamers want to be able to cancel or renegotiate the deal if they leave and the PAC doesn't want that.

Even if a deal gets signed we won't be able to take it at face value and the fine print is going to need to be broken down. The question is (and I promise no one has asked this of the other schools directly out of fear) if that deal gives the networks an out is it worth anything because that holds the other schools hostage?

The next problem is once a deal is agreed to how much of a fight are Oregon and Washington going to put up for a disproportionate share of the package which could derail the league?

There is just so much out there that could piss off another school and the corners know they can land a new home with a phone call for an already agreed-upon price. That is exactly why the Arizona president was so communitive in his interview that was sending a message of his expectations.

i dont believe the Big 10 is as big a factor as you want it to be. no commish. multiple reports of current big schools not wanting more west coast. not saying its impossible but i dont think its a big deal right now. next negotiation maybe.
i also dont think there is a uneven revenue problem. that was never a reported thing coming from oregon or washington. just a bunch of speculation from talking heads that others ran with.

ive heard 2 parts on this.
one it would be for rebroadcast of games after they they stream. like a delayed televised thing.
the other part is late night. Fox doesnt get that from Big XII other than home BYU games. take 2023 for example. if you are fox are you going to bank on BYU vs Sam houston or southern Utah for a late night game? probably not.
then you have Cinci, TT, Iowa State and Oklahoma. all could be nice late night draw games but i also doubt BYU would want all of them to be. Cinci probably wouldnt want that as they would be off by the most time. OK is still the big TV draw. so you get what 2 night games out of it?

So what you are telling me is the following:

1. B1G is not in play and that Oregon and Washington will sign GORs with no out.

2. Neither Washington or Oregon are pushing for uneven revenue.

If both those are true it helps a deal happen and it should match up to the B12. Honestly 1 is enough to get the deal but 2 could derail it.

If the GOR isn’t a problem then the odds a decent deal happening goes up substantially and the PAC survives. If there is an out then I would bet someone bolts.

Oh and for the record I don’t think the B1G is in play either and never did. I do believe both schools want outs just in case though.

I do but it’s not WV. I live in PA.

Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed a little white water rafting in college and at a bachelor party, but it can be tough even on the beginner streams.
 
ive decided that the they havent made any announcements currently as to not be a distraction to SDSU basketball players. yeah thats it.

Yeah, I think it’s more clear then it’ll ever be that the PAC should invite SDSU. But ultimately the existence of the conference still rest with your guys and UDub.
