Agree 100%, in fact I’ll be shocked if the BIG doesn’t wind up with Miami as a member when all the music finally stops… at that point anyway.
BIG loves the big markets and they (Miami) are also good academically.

I see @WhosYourDawggy and @Wild Turkey points on Miami but at the same time the SEC would get into that market plus keep the BIG out of another big market after they cornered L.A. I mean , I’d be good getting FSU too but :noidea:the SEC already has several Tallahassee types as is, not to mention already being in that area of Florida. I can’t help but think having the SEC in Miami would raise all boats when it was all said n done and the SEC fans may like a regular road trip to Miami but… I could be wrong.
Let the B1G take Miami and break their sports teams with travel.

I've said this all along ... the B1G made a mistake IMO going out West. The SEC continues to expand with contiguous states. If we raid the ACC in a decade, assuming it makes sense, we will do so with teams in the SE ... Clemson, FSU, OkSU, perhaps UNC, or even Miami. But we better not go out west or any of that nonsense.

Honestly Hu, it’d be beyond stupid for the B12 to add any more G5’s at this moment. Looking back if the B12 knew what they know now I’m not sure they would have added 4. I believe 2 of Houston, UCF and Cincy likely wouldn’t be added.
BYU was clearly the best add on.. I guess UCF would be the next best pick because of how big it's enrollment is, and that it's in FL. UH was a very very poor choice.. and I don't know what Cincinnati brings

I'd think at least some of that Florida panhandle are Bama fans. If anything just bandwagoners.

Cincy would have been tossed IMO. They'll always be 2nd fiddle to tOSU in recruiting and Big 10 fans aren't going to watch them, so you have the Big 12 fans watching them and some locals that live in Cincy.

Similar could also be said for UCF because of the other P5 Florida teams and them being in the SEC footprint for viewership, but they'd have the edge IMO.

Very true, but I think UO and uDub dont want a long GoR. Also are they really going to do unequal revenue sharing?

I’d also be interesting to see how low the number can get before a team like AZ bounces to the B12.
For the 1000000000 time no one from either oregon or UW have ever asked for unequal revenue sharing. that idea was put out there by the talking heads and people ran with it like it was sacred text.
GOR is speculation. everyone says it because from the outside looking in they want to go to the BigTen. from the inside they know how likely that is and likely in what time frame.

I think you over estimate how people watch the rest of the conference. i doubt many Oklahoma State or TCU fans are watching Cinci play Eastern Kentucky or Miami OH. and late season if they arent even bowl eligible are they tuning in if the opponent isnt either?

They aren't watching them now, but they will be when Cincy becomes a fellow conference member.

I rarely watched Big 10 football or any other conference when Nebraska was in the Big 12. I would watch the rivalries like Michigan/tOSU but not something like Indiana/Minnesota. I never even watched Iowa and they're right next door.
I watched Nebraska's Big 12 opponents games because I wanted to gauge how good they were and who were truly competing for the division.

I'll watch Iowa/Minnesota before I'll watch South Carolina/Florida. It just means more in this footprint.

you wanted to gauge how good they were? like you were a scout watching film?
so you would rather watch Rutgers vs indiana because they are in the Big 10 vs watching Oregon State Utah who both had 10 win seasons? at no point have i ever felt like i should watch Arizona vs Colorado just because they are in the Pac. only game on? ok both are good teams? id watch but lets be real about that scenario.

That's what I said.

Big 10 fans watch Big 10 games, just like SEC fans watch SEC games. Hence their massive TV contracts and Networks.

If I'm watching a Big 10 game that's a blowout, then I'm switching to some other conference game if it's more competitive.

I can't even get the PAC 12 Network on HULU so don't even go there. It's pure garbage and that's why it's availability is as limited as the Longhorn Network, if even that.

And they do so in great numbers which is why those conferences command such large media contracts.

Do B1G and SEC fans watch ACC, Big 12 or PAC 12 games? I don't think so in general unless it is "a game" ala RRSO, or two teams that have climbed up the rankings. I doubt they watch BC vs Wake, Iowa State vs Texas Tech or Cal vs AZ State. That said, I'm not so sure that ACC, Big 12 and PAC 12 fans watch a lot of B1G or SEC games unless they are "biggies" like tOSU/Michigan, Iron Bowl, etc. Don't think they'll add to the viewing numbers with games like Rutgers vs Purdue or Kentucky vs Mizzou.

Everything you said.

Yeah. I don't expect ACC, Big 12, or Pac 12 fans to watch Iowa vs Illinois, but they don't have to for the game to get decent viewership because there is enough Big 10 fans in the footprint to give them good viewership numbers.
If it's Beth Mowins calling the Iowa game (more often than not), we just turn the volume down. LOL

Sure, I'll watch SEC games before I watch games in different conferences. Like he said, we play those teams so I like to watch them play. Now, am I going to watch Ole Miss v. Kentucky? Probably not, but that's because the SEC will have some other elite game on at the same time and I'll watch that instead. I only watch a PAC game if it is on late at night and I'm done with games here on the east coast, or it's USC or Oregon playing someone interesting.

FWIW, I pretty much watch CFB all day on Saturdays. That's my time, and my family gets it.

I live in ACC country, so I will watch more of them than other conferences. I won't watch Indiana Rutgers, but if there isn't a good SEC game on, I'll watch a good B1G game with the top teams involved.

As I stated above, and you did in this post ... the B1G has a huge alumni/fanbase. The SEC simply has a huge inventory of very good games. That's why they get paid, and why they get the eyeballs.

You're going to lose you SEC Homer Card if you keep that up.

I can’t even imagine wanting to watch Iowa vs Minn. That sounds like some kind of punishment.

I’ll typically flip between 3 games. You never know which one is going to get interesting. Ole Miss vs KY last year especially early in the season would have been an interesting match up.

What I won’t do is watch a blow out that isn’t Auburn doing the blowing. There will be something else on more entertaining.

If I catch win an underdog is working on an upset that will get me every time. Those are the best.
