I wonder how much that will change for Arizona now that Miller is out.

It really depends on how much their roster changes now

Which will likely be tied to who the replacement is and what kinds of sanctions may be coming. But I'd think there would still be an adjustment just because it's a new coach.

Just saw a thing on FS1 that says Miller was fired with cause and that Arizona got a notice of allegations from the NCAA with 5 level 1 issues including Miller failing to promote compliance.

That is going to make it tough to hire a quality coach. Nobody established is going to want to jump into this mess. Might have to hire someone unproven.

Lute Olsen in the late 90's sure did make a lasting impression for everyones expectations of Arizona baskebtall.

Zona hasnt dominated the conference for about 15+ years, yet everyone still thinks they are some juggernaut blue blood program.

They haven't been what they were under Lute. But they have still one of the top teams in the conference during that time. If I remember what I heard correctly, they have 11 tournament appearances, 7 conference titles and 3 Elite 8 appearances. That's not Lute level, but it's still pretty darn good and probably better than pretty much anyone else over that time.

PAC 10/12 Regular Season Championships since Sean Miller took over (including co-champs):

Arizona - 5
Oregon - 4
Washington - 2
UCLA - 1
California - 1

Arizona's probably had the best team over that time with Oregon being the only other team in that conversation. If we are looking at the second half of Miller's time at Arizona, Oregon has been the best team in the PAC 12.

Looks like Lloyd is going to be the new Arizona coach

USC put on probation. Not sure what the penalties will include at this point

After the transfer movement, here's where the PAC 12 teams rank in Rothstein's Top 45:

1. UCLA (2nd nationally)
2. Oregon (7th nationally)
3. USC (25th nationally)
4. Arizona (40th nationally)

I think Wazzu is might be a top 50 team next season. I think they have a legit shot to be a tournament team given what they've added.

Who have they picked up this off-season?

Who have they picked up this off-season?

Michael Flowers from South Alabama. Averaged 21 ppg last year. 39% from 3. I think that's a really nice add.

Kim Aiken Jr. played at EWU last year. Originally transferred to Arizona but left after Miller was fired, and landed at Wazzu.

Picked up a D2 guy that averaged 20 ppg and shot 47% from 3.

Enroll a top 50 FR, which doesn't happen very often at a place like that.

Plus they didn't lose much off last year's team. I think they have a nice influx of talent coming in. And they'll be really experienced.

That could be a sneaky good team. Kyle Smith is a fantastic coach. Give him a few pieces and Wazzu could be dangerous

They were 78th in KenPom last year, so with the additions of those transfers, I think top 50 might be about right. I think the Pac 12 as a whole will be much improved from what they were in the regular season. Obviously they were great in the tournament.
