Paying Players Superthread

I was All-State in all three, Prom King, Student Council President, and got blowjobs from Buffy the cheerleader on the regular.
Buffy's mom even blew me few times.
I though Susie Rottencrotch was your squeeze back then!

What did I tell you humps???

LOL

FFS how gullible are people? i.e. People who can't read and comprehend.

"For the first time in the history of college sports, the NCAA has agreed to allow its Power Five conferences to pay players directly."

"The revenue-sharing plan would allow each school to share up to around $20 million per year with athletes."

"each school can share 22% of the average Power Five school’s revenues,"

"attorneys estimate that the total value of new payments and benefits that may be shared with college athletes"

Who the fuck agrees with or enters into anything based on meaningless words like "allow", "can", and "may"?

Not this guy. For me to enter into any agreement I need words like "will", "must", and "have to". Words have meanings.

If anything regarding this I see it as nothing more than the Big 10 and SEC separating themselves from the rest of CFB even further.

I am not as pessimistic as you are, but there is this:

- The G6 won't be able to pay $20 million, so their budgets will be far lower to pay players.
- The P2 will be able to pay players $20 million, even lowly Vandy type teams.
- The ACC and B12 will have to find $20 million to stay up with the P2.

But, there is no doubt that 40-65 teams will pony up $20 million a year to pay athletes.

Left to be determined:

- Title IX issues
- What do you have to pay athletes in sports that lose money
- Can they restrict NIL from being "pay to play" now that the players are being "paid to play." More specifically, can they do this without a CBA?
- Can they get some sort of federal law or exemption that will override the state level legislation?

Lol. A $20 million salary cap. Who will be the first team to be busted for exceeding the cap?

that's from the school..has nothing to do with NIL/Collectives providing more money for certain players

Seems that will be a simple thing to do. The trickier part is how do they make NIL so that it isn't "pay to play."

You guys know more than I do in regards to issues such as these. So, does this mean that school X pays players X amount of dollars, then that player CAN'T sit out bowl games no matter how "meaningless"?

We already have heard from the athletes that they only have to play. Seems like there is plenty of evidence out there if someone were to attempt legal action. I recommend going for Georgia first. Fuck those guys.
