Playoffs need to extend to at least 8 teams

Nick Saban didn't throw the Iron Bowl. It's only Monday, save some nonsense for later this week.
I took it as everyone knew Bama was at worst the #2 best team in the nation that year despite it's one loss.. I just found it funny how WI and tosu were being championed for that #4 spot that year lol

everyone was hoping that the CFP would have left Bama out KNOWING they were the best team that season despite it's loss..
It used to be if Auburn beat Alabama we ruined their season and now it's like it doesn't matter if they win the iron bowl or not. It's stupid.

I wish they would have gave it to UCF. I think I’d have a natty to remember fondly.

But 2017 was a rare year where circumstances made it so the two best teams were the 3 and 4 seeds

I’m not convinced the committee wouldn’t have put them in the playoffs last year had y’all not beaten them. They probably would have won the natty too given how much trouble they gave LSU and how rematches tend to favor the loser of the first matchup

well if we expand it.. maybe Auburn won't care either?

4 teams is fine.. Again outside of two seasons #4 is a sitting duck for the #1 seed. Y'all really want to see more blowouts and potential injuries if your school is that much better than a 6 to 8 seed?

All the flack people gave ND this year or even ou the past two CFPs, yet open it up to 4 more schools who are pretty much equal to ou or ND?
Ahhh, but you qualified the statement right there. Had we not gone to the CFP, the two best teams in those seasons wouldn't have won natties. And those two WERE the best teams...they validated it on the playoff field. The play on the field has proven the two high seeded teams didn't prove to be the better team when an actual game was played. Of the six years, only 2016 and 2019 had #1 and #2 win all the games.

But, I'll be the first to admit #1s and #2s have more total wins in the playoffs than #3s and #4s do. In fact, #3 seems to be sucking hind tit.

2015 #4 2 wins, #2 1 win
2016 #1 2 wins, #2 1 win
2017 #2 2 wins #1 1 win
2018 #4 2 wins #3 1 win
2019 #2 2 wins #1 1 win
2020 #1 2 wins #3 1 win

#1 seeds 6 wins (can add at least one more for this year w/ Bama's win)
#2 seeds 6 wins
#3 seeds 2 wins (can add at least one more for this year with Ohio State's win)
#4 seeds 4 wins

would the machines have ranked them the same as the committee?

It will. Because you will get better games and each conference race actually means something

This year unless you GAF about the PAC or Big 12 you weren't paying attention. Would you have watched their title games if it was for a place in the playoff?

Suddenly Iowa state had a shot at history.
Maybe but at the time of the game they still had an outside shot at getting in and we already had 2 or 3 other matchups that had playoff implication on the same day. At the same time, I like watching those same teams get upset and presumably knockout the playoff race throughout the regular season.

Actually... in 2016 #1 had 1win and the #2 had 2 wins.

so...#1 seeds have 5 wins and #2 seeds have 7. Doesn't change your point, just clarifying for accuracy.

To give chance to teams like Cincinnati to play in it.
I'd rather my team not get a chance to play in CFP rather than getting absolutely boat-raced in the CFP, which is what would have happened had Cincinnati gotten in.

I think the P5 champs should all get auto-bids. Whether the playoff is expanded to 6 or 8, I'm not sure many non-p5 schools would ever get in TBH. At the end of the day, this is a money grab and the Notre Dames of the world will always get in over the Cincys.

Damn, I though you were dumb before, but if that was your takeaway from what he said...just damn....like really...damn.

That's the same exact thing as saying OU fans would rather be 0-0 in the CFP than 0-4.

You need to brush up on the definition of the word exact, but even if you drop it from your post, you’re wrong.
