Looks like a duck magnet.
Spread some corn around the edges and they will come.

I ain't got time for that. Besides, the ducks will find their food. The water is for night time rest.I didn't say to shoot them while you're actively feeding them. But it will get them used to the area.![]()

All too common on the Flyway. There is a local guide who had a hunting show on pbs...his grandfather and his father had hunting shows as well....all three with the same name. The guy also guided hunts. he was busted by the game people with a submergible feeding station on his duck pond. He would load it with feed and then sink it just below the surface where it wasn't seen. And then would bring paid hunters on to shoot a bunch of ducks and also did some of his shows that way.

I believe the large mouth part5 acre pond on my property is full of LMB. Best fishing in Southlake.
Used to live on the flyway. Don't any more. I haven't moved. All too common on the Flyway.
The number of ducks have been increasing over here on the Eastside. Haven't read any reason for it.Used to live on the flyway. Don't any more. I haven't moved.

No reason to invite them in on the project, next thing you know there's a protected species of something and you can't enjoy your own propertyYeah, this is a flyway for ducks, geese, cranes, pelicans, etc.
Hence NRD saying "get after it".
The state even offered to supplement $$ the project, but I said "Thanks, but no thanks".

Exactly nothing is ever free especially from the governmentThat's the way I see it. If they've got a stake in it they'll be telling me what to do all day every day.
No thanks. I'll dummy up the $40 grand it'll take to see it through and keep my peace.
Bro you're in clay hell I'm surprised your first hole didn't get any. My whole property is 2-4 inches of topsoil then straight clay. Just carved a hole for basketball unit a couple weeks agoWe dug another trench a hundred yards or so away from the pilot hole yesterday, just to see what was there.
The composition was a lot different in that spot. More 2-3 feet of black dirt, then a transition to 6-7 feet of clay, before turning all sand.
Same water table at 6 feet.
The clay is a good thing that we were looking for in sealing the pond and shoring up the walls/berms. We thought we might have to bring some in.
