Pruitt threatens to cripple Tennessee Athletics if they don't pay up

I’ve run into Pruitt a time or two before he made it and I can assure you the dude is a scumbag. Just remember he was the defensive coordinator for Rush Propst at Hoover High School in Alabama and they were as dirty as they come.

This dude isn’t going to get this type of gig again and this really is his last chance at a payday and scumbags will lie, steal and destroy to get what they think they are entitled to.

There is zero chance he is going to accept accountability and if he goes down he is taking everyone down unless he gets paid.

This is a hilarious threat from pretty much every angle. Tennessee has teams of lawyers already working for them. Pruitt is going to have to hire a team for the lawsuit. Even if he knows about NCAA violations, those aren't legal violations typically. And he's threatening a broken athletic department with irrelevance.

Seems similar to the Blackwell lawsuit against Michigan State that resulted in Blackwell getting nothing.

Worse for Pruitt, he was fired for cause -- the NCAA found major recruiting violations. I'm sure that contract is built so that being fired with cause results in no buyout.

What’s worse, letting a contract expire or firing with cause? Blackwell wasn’t even fired.

True but depending on what he knows he couod certainly cost the University wayyyy more than what his buyout is

I mean...maybe. If it were illegal. I doubt even if he knew the worst NCAA violations, it would really impact the university financially; and he would certainly be the scapegoat for them. And anything illegal he would be tied up in, potentially risking himself.
