The stuff that Tennessee threw out there as "evidence" to get rid of Pruitt didn't sound horrible and I'm sure they had done much worse (because everyone has) but I just don't understand why they opened this door just to save 12mm.Yeah, after review, I don't have any insider information on this one. Just opinions from both sides.
It does sound like Tennessee is willing to call his bluff on it.

Everyone knows you pay the guy, self-report what you can away with, and hire attorneys to develop school-imposed penalties and argue that the NCAA should be happy with that.
You guys are acting like rookies on this deal.
Tennessee be likeIt is because Tennessee has divided boosters. The Haslems were rejected (Schiano situation) and the Anti-Haslem crowd brought in Fulmer to run program. I think it was some pro-Haslem supporters in the administration that leaked the information.

Well, if Fulmer says it it must be true. LOL. Fulmer is as dirty as everyone else is. This will not come out well for UTjr.![]()
Rick Barnes And Phillip Fulmer Make It Clear: Ex-coach Jeremy Pruitt Has No One To Blame But Himself
Michael Lyons, the attorney representing former Tennessee football coach Jeremy Pruitt, sent a letter to the university "Jeremy has no one to blame but himself for his firing from UT. He had a great opportunity at a great university, and he simply screwed it up."www.outkick.com

You’re going to get something because of the big fuss your idiot Chancellor made and their insistence to out themselves to get rid of Pruitt.I am just giving links to the story. I am not giving an opinion either way.
I might as well quit college football though if NCAA punishes. There is no point in watching the sport anymore.

The play is to self report (supposedly all), enforce self imposed penalties like scholarship reductions and sit out a bowl this year or something and you should be good to go.
I have been amazed over the years at how incompetent your administration has been. This isn't fans giving each other a hard time. Your administration, over many years, has made misstep after misstep. I mean by accident you would have to do something wright every now and again. Settle for 5-6 million, and move on. Keeping the spotlight on the situation is the exact wrong thing to do.I am surprised they didn't settle to just avoid the bad PR. My assumption is that Pruitt wants a settlement number that UT is unwilling to pay.
They can’t afford my people.

My guess is he has a terrible case. He's a cheating POS. That said, once the suit is filed he gets discovery which includes depositions, etc. No one, and I mean no one, wants that. Can you imagine getting to put Fulmer under oath. From everything that I am reading, Pruitt doesn't have a great case.
Despite that fact, it still makes sense to settle. Tennessee has too much bad PR right now. It is no coincidence that these comments were made after what happened this Saturday. I doubt they would have been made if not for that.
