Not even sure how to read this, but doesn't look good about supply chain issues.

And what, exactly is that 'issue' ???
Anyone know, because they just keep saying it and never explaining it.

Chips! It's Chips!

What's the hold up with those, exactly
Seems like after 2 years and a HUGE BAILOUT, it would get better.

It hasn't though
It appears the automotive industry is the only one with this problem.

The electronics companies had a "chips" thing for a while, now there's Ipads fallin out your fuckin ears.

These two pars. from a CNET article get to the heart of the matter.

"Chips go into virtually everything we buy anymore," Fiorani said. At the beginning of the pandemic, automakers cut their semiconductor orders, anticipating a big downturn in sales. "OEMs stepped out of line and the manufacturers that make chips reallocated that factory space to much more profitable, much more in-demand chips for iPhones and PlayStations and other things," he added. Now that auto sales are red-hot again, chipmakers can't meet demand because their capacity has been spoken for. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as turning the lights back on and ramping production up again.

Profitability is another issue Fiorani pointed out. The automotive industry requires older chips, ones that make semiconductor manufacturers less money. It takes only a fraction of the processing power to run a few parking sensors than it does an iPhone 13 Pro. Additionally, for safety, car companies use proven designs, reliable chips that function for decades in all temperatures, humidity levels and other conditions. Whether it's Nvidia, Texas Instruments, TSMC or any other manufacturer, chipmakers have been incentivized to produce more advanced semiconductors at the expense of their automotive customers.

Why the heck is there still a chip shortage for cars?

The Ford CEO might be a visionary, he might know the best direction for the Company, he might even be a good guy.

But the one thing he can't do is BUILD FUCKING VEHICLES.

Not sure how long Ford will put up with it.

Yeah Yeah, things are changing, blah blah blah.
Even though he has good ideas, it's becoming more obvious that he's completely incompetent.

He's banking the future of the pick up truck on the F150 Lightening, a truck that, according to Car & Driver, has about a 100 mile range under full towing load. Look up "useless" in the dictionary and there's a pic of the F150 EV. Yep, I'd go with incompetent.

Just now seeing this, but what huge bailout are you thinking Ford took?

Then look up how many F150's are actually used for towing even 5% of their entire life. Those that are towing were never going to buy electric in the first place. The audience are the pavement princess drivers.

Stock was down because of earnings misses, but they still are outperforming other auto competitors.

F150 was always known as the job site truck for engineers and foremen. It was the truck of choice in rural backwoods locations and off road construction locations. The princess wagon will not cut it in that kind of environment. The F150 reputation will take a big hit.

The Jaguar company will cease to manufacture gas powered vehicles next year. I suspect this is the CEO's strategy to file for bankruptcy within 24 months and take his reverence to the Cayman Islands.

And they still sell ICE F150's for them. Won't take a hit at all, just like when they went to an aluminum bed and everyone talked shit.
