Rut Roh, Ford takes a 5% hit to their stock price. Future looking 'Not Bright'

As long as they continue the F150 ICE, all will be fine. All these woke ass CEO's I don't trust though.
Ford will always make ICE F150's (as long as they are legal to do so) because there are jobs that just can't be done with electricity. Now I could see the Maverick and Ranger lines going fully electric, but not F150/250/350+

Farley is set to go EV for sure.
I read that he said that EV's have 30% fewer parts than ICE, or takes 30% less time to put together on the assembly line, or something to that affect.

Just imagine becoming that much more efficient, AND getting rid of the Dealer network (thousands of dollars in it to keep the dealer afloat) how much less these vehicles could be.

I'm sure he plans to keep all of that money though.

Getting rid of dealer network would be a massive cost savings. fewer parts means more automation and fewer union jobs, too.

I have read where he is none too happy with the Dealership network.
I know of 2 Ford Dealers that got slammed by Ford and forced to sell because of all the sneaky shit they were doing.

He wants to build an 'Order and Service Centers' where you walk in, look at vehicles that are not for sale (demo only) so that you can order your vehicle. One price shopping, no TRADES.

You order your car exactly the way you want, set up the financing....... easy peasy.\
And have the Service right there, with EVERYTHING you need, but not at high prices above what everyone else charges.
In other words, GET MORE IN LINE WITH REAL PRICING that consumers will respond to.

I see some drawback.

That's the model Tesla has tried to do. Here in Texas the dealers have a ton of power and have blocked it. I'd love to be able to go to a test drive center and then order what I wanted online. I know exactly the price I would pay and no sitting around while some kid "talks to the manager to see if I can do that". And I can sell my car to them or someone else.

Oh yeah, and give me parts online direct from Manufacturer as well. Dealers can still be service and warranty centers, just don't need to do sales.

So the great disposable vehicle. What landfills do they go in? An ICE vehicle can be on the road for 20+ years if maintained properly, and hell, even if they're not, you see shitters all the time! After 8 years, who's going to buy an EV? There is no market because nobody will spend the money to put a new engine (battery pack) in. So where do all these junk EV's go? The world sells 80 million cars annually. Somebody is not thinking this thing through.

Sounds like all ICE from 1920-1980. Disposable, rarely lasted >100k miles if really maintained properly, and needed a new one every 8 years.

ICE had 70+ years to get it right and you want to write off electric after less than 10 of them even being mainstream>?

I never said write them off. They can co-exist along side ICE vehicles and people will have a choice. The simple fact is that nobody will spend the huge amount of money needed to replace a battery pack in order to re-sell an EV. Dealers won't touch it I suspect.

He's banking the future of the pick up truck on the F150 Lightening, a truck that, according to Car & Driver, has about a 100 mile range under full towing load. Look up "useless" in the dictionary and there's a pic of the F150 EV. Yep, I'd go with incompetent.
Lol. Lightening trucks were sport trucks, and not used for towing, or job sites, or lol engineers and foreman. They are sport/performance trucks.

They will come down in price as the secondary market options come available. Until then, it is stealership only and unaffordable.

Just saw today that Ford lost $2.2Billion Dollars in 2022 in their EV Division;
Projection for 2023: $3.2Billion Dollar Loss in their EV Division.

Not sure how long this guy will hang on.

Does that include overhead from new facilities?

They dropped like a billion on the new Rouge EV Center downriver Detroit. Opened last year.

The train station project I’ve read could be as much as 2 billion. That’s all in one county.

Environmental extremists are pushing transition to all electric too fast before the replacement power infrastructure is in place.

This is insane and will cost us a shitload of money over rationed electrical capacity. Fucking insane.

Wondering if electrical cars become the fad like 3D TV's. Every so often we get that push for 3D TV's and then the push disappears. If it wasn't for states putting into law the banning of gasoline vehicles, I would guess all electric vehicles never really become a thing.

Tons of money in EV support. Charging networks, parts, "look how progressive I am", etc. Not so much on 3D TV. That only works if you have content creators, and that costs a lot as well. Sort of how VR is going now.

I guess the bottom line is we need to figure out how to get porn to incorporate EV's. Whatever porn adopts, lasts. :dhd:

Bang Bus EV-edition!

I think as the years go on people will start to realize the lack of reliability, that it actually is very damaging to the environment to go all EV, and how expensive it will all be.

Maybe this will lead them to meet halfway and go with the hybrid type models, which i think are far better. Electric/Gasoline powered. The gasoline is still there for the power and reliability and the need for long travels, and the electric is used for city driving and short distances.
