Saban just saying what everyone is thinking.

Writing on the wall? He won the west, the SEC and played for the NC. With arguably his worst team since 2010.More like he is pissed that Jimbo just beat him with a terrible QB but now has a stable of QB options and some of the best players in the country. This is nothing more than Saban seeing the writing on the wall. If he were a lesser man I would expect some medical condition to crop up in the next month or so that forces him to step away before the house of cards crashes down
Not even when they trash rival teams? They’re just not my cup of tea. I’ve watched most of their videos, not once did I so much as crack a smile
I have no problem with the idea of NIL but it went off the rails in a hurry.Sure coaches like Saban and Dabo can "morally" recruit using NIL the right way but practically they're in the position to never be fired from their school.
I don't disagree in what Saban said in the other 99% of what he said. The "idea" of NIL was to give players the chance to make money off their likeness but we all knew this was going to turn into the bid war for players as we know of today and there's no way to police this. Sure coaches like Saban and Dabo can "morally" recruit using NIL the right way but practically they're in the position to never be fired from their school. I don't any other coach for using NIL as a recruiting tool because if you're not, you are left behind and looking for a job in a few years
Nope. They don’t have a dark enough sense of humor. I’m over here saying “we’re gonna bend you over and fuck you in the ass” and they’re like “I just hope nobody gets hurt”. Fucking 10 plyNot even when they trash rival teams?
But you have coaches like Ryan Day who never had a brain to break. When Jim Harbaugh is your coach’s daddy, you don’t get to speak about other teams coachesThis NIL stuff is breaking some coaches brains. Its hilarious.
I think Bryce Young is from California. You can sign NIL deals in HS in California. Hell -- I believe Nike just signed two sisters who are 15 and 16 year old high school soccer players to a NIL deal in California.Didn’t Bryce Young have a high 6 figure NIL deal before he signed with Bama?
what else did we tap last year?Writing on the wall? He won the west, the SEC and played for the NC. With arguably his worst team since 2010.
A&M finished 5th and tapped out of their bowl game.
Without any realistic way to implement a salary cap in CFB, CFB stood no chance introducing NIL. For selfies reasons this is why I was against NIL. To be fair, CFB has never had parity so when the big pocket schools start to filter to the top the parity won't be too different to what it always beenI have no problem with the idea of NIL but it went off the rails in a hurry.
But I have selfish reasons for being concerned. ND is a school that prides itself on being a university first and football team second. It’s major selling point is it’s a 40 year decision because you’ll be set for life even if your football career doesn’t pan out. Even at schools they will send 10+ kids in the draft every year most of those flame out. But it’s a lot harder to make that pitch to a kid who with some good financial planning can be set for life without ever playing a down in the nfl.
ND will get in the NIL race because it has to and it certainly has the alumni who can afford to, but the school will always pull back on the reigns on it because anytime they start rolling in success the collars pull back. And I’m sure there’s a mindset among older and more well off alums who think this NIL is not the right thing to do. Without guardrails they’ll never be able to compete with other schools to sell the NIL angle.
Id do cartwheels if Michigan had been buying players -- our administration has a stick so far up their archaic ass -- we only accept transfers from the portal if they are grad transfers, because they won't accept the majority of the credits from other universities. So Saban is salty that what Bama and the SEC and basically any major program do every year is now basically just legal? and someone did it better than him? Lolz.
Not much if you went 4-4 in conference play.what else did we tap last year?
Saban doesn't seem to care about any other school using NIL to get recruits. Only the one that with a bad team kicked his ass last year, and now appears to have a better team. Not much if you went 4-4 in conference play.
That is why I don't know how Fisher can keep a straight face when he said they didn't buy a recruiting class. A&M hasn't even won a conference title in 25 years, yet somehow they sign the greatest recruiting class ever assembled.
I'm jealous. I wish Michigan would dip their toe in the water while the NCAA is letting schools buy players. Lord knows we have plenty of money to go around.
No other school has blatantly done what A&M did. Only other blatant one is Tennessee right now. Texas has a few deals set up for position groups, but nothing like A&M. He also called out Jackson State.Saban doesn't seem to care about any other school using NIL to get recruits. Chewy has no sense of humor. He is an honorary Oregon fan.C’mon. The GA fan pepper spraying her repeatedly was hilarious. Maybe it hit too close to home.
No has done what A&M did. Teams may have paid for a player, but A&M bought an entire recruiting class. When all is said and done -- A&M will be the reason why NIL deals will have strict guidelines and I wouldn't be too shocked if the NCAA investigates the transactions for their recent recruiting class. Many other schools have done what A&M did. We just did it better.
