The pictures that skip the grass look very nice. Well done.

Time to work on the lawn.
I gave up on the fucking grass. I have one dog that is hyper allergic to any kind of weed and feed. She literally starts eating her paws off. So, I have been resigned to just cutting whatever grows, and not giving a fuck.

Why not get rid of it then? There are a lot of landscaping options.

Ok, I have to ask.
If the sun is too much for you, why do you even have a pool?
It actually only covers about 1/3 of the pool, and will cover even less once I fin tune things. Its nice to have some shade over the pool out here. Especially with little kids, like my niece that is a year and half, and white as chalk. She burns indoors.

Because my house is meeting place, and having that 60' x 40' patch of cut weeds is good for the kids to play, and for setting up tables and chairs for big events, like my daughters graduation/18th birthday party next month.

Wonder what the sails will do in high winds.
Yeah, last night here is why I haven't put any up yet. now that I can get a mounting surface 21' closer to the pool, might be an option. Those straight lines last night did a number, so permanent mounts won't work in North Texas. But I love the look of them.

Not to mention that pool looks to be about 15k gallons. Mine is 18k and gets direct sun like that all day. By late July the water is damn near 92-93 degrees. It feels like a sunburn getting in the water. Having shade over it would help a lot, but trees near a pool is a recipe for insanity.

My pool is about 22k gallons. 8 foot deep is why.
