SEC Basketball

Sooners mens hoops team 12-0 for first time since 2015-16. That year Buddy Hield and company made the Final Four.

Currently, ESPN's Joe Lunardi's bracketology features a whopping 13 bids for the SEC.

That obviously will not happen but damn.

Well the B12 has been the best conference for like the last 4 years or so. Not this year though. SEC is killing it in the Non Con.
SEC basketball has been getting stronger every year, and doesn't look any different this year. Even over the last 4 years I wouldn't say that the Big12 was "way harder" than an SEC schedule.

Yeah, but a couple of those weren't really impressive because the two they beat ain't too swift.

I spent the afternoon/evening at Dickie's Arena in downtown Fort Worth watching Vandy/TCU, A&M/Texas Tech and South Carolina/TCU women. Only team that impressed me was South Carolina women.

All four of the men's teams were some of the best turnover bakers I've ever seen. I can't see A&M or Vandy doing much this year because of how strong as the SEC seems to be. (A&M is very old/experienced and should be better. They certainly can be later but they'll have to improve over yesterday's game.) Tech/TCU may win a few games in the Big 12 but only because it doesn't look like much at all.

I'll give the Red Raider faithful credit for one thing. They showed up big time. It was sold out. I'd guess it was 70%-30% Tech. Not many fan bases beat the agnuts.
We always start slow. Not sure what Buzz does, but takes us a while to get rolling. Very annoying.

SEC conference play starts this weekend with Jexas coming to A&M.

Yes the SEC has been getting stronger every year but unfortunately, we have also as a conference pretty much shit the bed in the tournament every year also for the most part and until we get over that hump we can't claim to be the best. This year feels different though and I expect league play to be a blood bath.

The league's success in non-conference play has been historic for the SEC and we have 10 teams in the AP top 25 right now and hold both the 1 & 2 spot. Its just ridiculous how good the conference looks right now.

It is different though because the league is way better than what it was in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Not only with the 14 hold over members, but also adding TX and OU who are like 23-2 combined or something like that. The SEC was a good league the previous 3 seasons, but it might be the best league ever this year. The B12 was the best league the last 3 seasons. I don't think it was particularly that close.

No the Big 12 was easily the best conference in the country for basketball. The SEC gains have mostly been at the expense of the ACC that has just plummeted and only has one team currently in the top 25. That’s nuts.

All of my chest thumping over SEC basketball is because the OU fan said that them playing in the SEC will be "much easier" than Big12.

Middle of the road will put them with South Carolina and Ole Miss. I think they will do better than that. SEC basketball will be a relief after playing in the Big 12. And maybe OU can finally get some competition in softball and gymnastics but doubt it. Same for texas in volleyball. We will continue to own these sports. Time will tell for sure in football.

No mens basketball is about to get a whole lot easier.

Oh not saying OU is going to be great at all. I'm just saying the SEC is not as good as the Big 12 in mens basketball.

these are the comments that just make me shake my head. Bama giving them a good welcoming to the SEC so far.

I said up until this year the Big 12 has been much better than the SEC and it has. Pretty much everyone has agreed with that but you lol.

And as far as this OU team they have like one guy that's close to 6-10 so when they play teams with a lot of height like Alabama going forward they are going to get killed.

Full disclosure I'm not really much of a round ball guy. Not even the Thunder really. Much prefer football and the diamond sports.

It appears you said it'd be easy playing basketball in the SEC THIS year.

You said you were looking forward to basketball in the SEC because it will be much easier. Your quotes are there, why lie?

K. That doesn't change the fact you have repeatedly said that SEC basketball will be easier than Big12 basketball. I quoted you saying "mens basketball is about to get a whole lot easier" and you weren't saying that Big12 WAS better than the SEC, you said "SEC is not as good as the Big 12 in mens basketball". That's present tense.

No one is agreeing with you btw. "lol" indeed.

I mean I'm done arguing with you over this. OU has a rich basketball tradition with Billy Tubbs, Kelvin Sampson, and Lon Kruger. OU has had a much better basketball program than A&M. OUs played in multiple final fours and has played for the national title a couple times. Many consider the 1988 NC game vs Kansas the greatest ever. But again I'll watch a few games here and there but I just don't really care that much for basketball in general.

Cool story, feel better? The only issue I have is the stupid assed comment you made and your continuing doubling down instead of what you finally said in your last post...that you don't know jack shit about basketball.
