Softball?

Don't blame her if they are paying her a ton. It's not like softball players get multi-million dollar pro contracts when they get out of school.
Agree, don't blame the kid for taking the money. I don't understand the collectives reasoning here. TxTech isn't one player from being legit contenders and that is a LOT of money for one softball player. you can get a 5-star football player for that kind of money.

yeah same thinking here.. take the money but for Tech.. why pay this amount for her when you don't have the team to challenge for a championship? Maybe they feel this shows recruits that they are serious? But then again, they set the price so established players will be wanting to be paid similar

All I can figure is they plan now to be the top team in the Big12, so going all in. Not sure I'd go all in on softball knowing when you get to the playoffs the powers are still there.

SEC bent OU over on the softball schedule just as bad if not worse than the football schedule. Bring it!

OU softball lands the #1 pitcher and she's the #2 overall player. This may be Patty's best class ever.

OU signs 6 of the top 10 players in the Nation. 4 of the top 5. More of the same! Boomer

I would just like to add OU also gets the #1 gymnastics class coming to 4 time national champion Oklahoma.

Do Jexas and OU fans think that football is the only sport that the regular season is about to get a LOT harder?

No mens basketball is about to get a whole lot easier.

Think you will be >.500 in conference play this season? My guess is you will start out 0-4 in conference.

Oh not saying OU is going to be great at all. I'm just saying the SEC is not as good as the Big 12 in mens basketball.

I mean the Big 12 owns the Big 12/SEC Challenge. I didn't think it was a secret that the Big 12 was better.
I guess I was confused by the Big12 having only 3 top 25 teams to end the year last year, and the highest being #8 while the SEC had two in the top 5 and 5 in the top 25. Both had 8 teams in the tourney, but not a single big12 team made it out of the sweet 16.

But if you are going off something that ended two seasons ago, I guess that's the issue.

Yeah I was going off more than 1 year lol. The Big 12 has been regarded as probably the best conference in mens basketball. But I digress. Maybe @ELTEXAN and @Thiefery can chime in here?

With Houston in it, perhaps. Without Houston, nah. It was Kansas and some also rans.

yeah big12 basketball was brutal.. especially with just 10 teams.. home and home.. playing ranked teams back to back was the norm

Not a fan of Rodney Terry.. so I'm just going to hibernate til after the '26 season :(

The SEC has always been Kentucky and some also rans. No real substance there. In the last Big 12 vs SEC challenge OU thumped #1 Alabama by 30 points. OU has also swept the series with Arkansas the last few years and OU was a middle of the pack maybe lower Big 12 team.
