Star Wars had become a laughing stock until an ugly duckling mandalorian and a baby Yoda rescued the whole damn thing.

Can't wait for season 2. Took me a while to get around to watching season 1 but quickly binged it once I had started. Hope the Mando keeps being an ass kicker, I hope they don't turn him into a "sympathetic" character (aka giant pussy) like Luke Skywalker was.

I finally watched Season One over the previous few days. I almost gave up after the first 5 episodes which were quite sub-standard. The series finally picked up with episode 6 (the jailbreak story).

The first 5 episodes were dull & uninspiring, and I'd only give those 5 a collective score of 4 out of 10. However, the final 3 episodes were very enjoyable, and definitely raises the overall score of Season One to approx. 6.5 out of 10.

So... it is good enough that I will probably watch Season Two. But IMO, The Mandalorian doesn't come close to the quality of some of my other current favorite dramas such as Better Call Saul, Vikings, The Expanse, Kingdom (South Korea), The Boys, Westworld, The Handmaid's Tale, Fargo, and Killing Eve.

I would put The Mandalorian at the same "OK" or "decent" level as shows such as Raised by Wolves, Star Trek: Discovery, Cobra Kai, The Terror, and The Walking Dead. Those are all "OK" shows that I watch, but wouldn't shed a tear if they were cancelled.

Final note... Giancarlo Esposito portrays awesome villains; he currently plays villains in three current series that I watch: Better Call Saul (Gus Fring), The Boys (Mr Edgar), and The Mandalorian (Moff Gideon). Kudos to Giancarlo Esposito!

How is the terror? Would always see the commercials during BCS. The season 1 on a boat never grabbed my attention, but the second season commercials looked more interesting.

Likely Boba Fett too!
I'm actually curious how many people didn't realize that was him not recognizing him as Jango's actor or forgetting he is a clone of him because it's definitely not obvious on first watch. But overall I'm happy with the episode, not just felt like an adventure in the Star Wars universe without forcing it and the visuals and stuff were great as always.

Seemed like most did based on Twitter reactions I saw but not like an overwhelming majority. Like 60%, maybe a little more. I feel like the people that watch this show are mostly huge SW nerds anyway or astute SW viewers(meaning they don't necessarily consume all the books, comics, etc but know the movies enough to know what's up)

Great first episode

R5-D4 lives!
I liked it. Seemed a little fan service-y to me

with the re-visiting Tatooine and finally showing a living Kryat Dragon. But it will be interesting to see how boba fett plays into this season
