Straight seeding model expected for 2025 CFP

This is straight seeding for the byes, but not for the whole field, correct? Highest rated G5 or a conference champ could still be outside of the top 12?
last year would have been interesting because Boie was already in the top 12. Clemson was not so in theory one would assume Clemson takes spot 12. However Big XII champ Arizona State was at 12. so 11 Alabama would fall out. Arizona State takes 11 seed and Clemson 12.

I think you'd still have the same teams in just the seeding woulda looked different.

Can ND just start scheduling a 13th game (maybe play a week earlier to start the year?) so they can say they played the same amount of games? Or is that not allowed?
Would you see playing 13 games enough to make up that difference if they just scheduled to play the MAC team of the week?

Claiming Ohio State got a "easy" path through the playoff is completely retarded anyways. They had to play the only undefeated team and then Texas in the semi finals.

Claiming Penn State had a "easy path" might be genuine since they SMU and Boise'd their way into the Semis.

He probably would claim Ohio State had it "easy" in 2014 as well.
Tennessee was the only "easy" game we had, and they finished the year ranked 9th. To say we had an easy run is just more blabbering from morons.

It's low hanging troll fruit, usually I wouldn't even acknowledge the stupid claim but i'm bored. I doubt he actually believes it.

10 of their 12 games this year are against P4 teams (and one G5 is Boise who is at least always decent if not pretty good) so yeah, I'm fine with that.

He knows he's back to michigan being on the outside looking in again so this is all he has.

It's really year to year with ND in terms of can they get a BYE I think. I mean according to da rules they CAN but WILL the committee give it to them is another question.

Depends on how their schedule shakes out for one. All the P5 teams are nice but if a good amount of them end up being 6 or < win type teams or if none of them finish very highly rated it doesn't look as good at the end of the year.

Also depends on how everyone else looks at the end of the year as well.

Yeah that’s a good point. I mean what if they have a weak schedule and no losses or one loss. Either way since the committee decides ultimately this shouldn’t be much of an issue

We're going to have to be 12-0, which I'm fine with. If we go 11-1 odds are we won't deserve one. It's basically the 4 team CFP all over again for ND. 12-0, basically locked into the top 4, 11-1 and it becomes extremely difficult for ND to be top 4.

I think they are gonna have to be 12-0 in most cases to get one. Unless they have 1 loss which came to another upper level team and the selection of other 1 loss teams is skimpy

I'm appalled!!! Not only is ND recruiting better because of the no rules NIL era, they get preferential treatment in CFP seeding now too?!? What's next? DICTATING schedule and kickoff times.. While being the visitors on opposing TV networks?!?! 👀

CFB is dead thanks to ND 😭

😁😁🤘

But even at 12-0 and you shouldn't get a bye. Simple issue of fairness. All other teams have to play a 13th game except ND. And those are tough games, not cupcakes.

This will probably only matter this year. Next year when it goes to 14/16 it won't.

I don't agree. It looks like it might worse as almost all the teams getting into the CFP will have played a 13th game, except ND. To me the bye you get the 13th week is worse than you getting a bye due to ranking. In fact, if you played a 13th game no one would object to you getting a bye if any of the new systems have byes.
