I'm probably being provincial but the school I'm most concerned about not being harmed is Oklahoma State. They've done everything right but just had the misfortune of being in the same state as OU. WVU will be fine. And fuck Kansas; they're a one trick pony who has mooched off the conference for way too long. Some other schools have done either a good job of trying to improve (TCU, for example) but Baylor is despicable. Iowa State has a great job of improving its football program, etc. But Oklahoma State has pretty much done everything right across the board and they may be in a real bind. That does suck.
From my viewpoint, they have the healthiest overall athletic program outside ou and UT. They are competitive in Football, Basketball, and Baseball. Have a national champion wrestling and golf program as well. Loyal following too. I think if the PAC does expand, they should be considered immediately. I don't think they will be given a hard look by the BiG.. maybe the ACC?

y'all are making waaay too much into this.. WIll TX have a say on certain things? of course they will.. same way how Bama has a say over Vandy or UK..

so in your Texascentric viewpoint, Texas comes into the SEC and should immediately have the pull of Alabama and have an immediate say OVER Vandy or UK.

Dear SEC.

We warned ya.

I have a theory that will only be proven or disproved over a few years: Texas is actually going to be able to relax a bit after getting into the SEC because they will not be constantly hassled/obligated/bugged/expected to be the wheel horse for a conference when it comes to generating revenue. They will settle in and be able to focus on the job of winning athletic contests and strengthening their academics even more than ever. As for Oklahoma, OU will likely lose a game here and there in the SEC but with the CFP expanding to 12 games it is going to be nice not have to run the table to be there at the end hoping we get that 4th slot instead of Ohio State or a SEC team. We'll have a margin for error that will allow OU to focus on building an even stronger athletic department (especially football) and hopefully generate enough excitement for the Alumni to support the academic side with additional financial support.

not just for those reasons but the last 10 years has been a wild bumpy ride for the University and it's athletic department. From the power struggle between Bill Powers and then Gov Rick Perry.. the end of the DeLoss Dodds era to go along with the end of the Mack Era.. A woman AD trying to become the AD who eventually blessed probably the worst ever AD in history over Oliver Luck in Steve Patterson.

It was a complete mess. I'm confident that things are set again (aligned) with CDC the new AD, his hand picked HC in Sark turning the corner.

CDC has gotten the BMDs back in step, has made a home run hire in Basketball.. both Mens and Womens. Has put together all the money to renovate the SEZ project that costs the state NOTHING.. (something aggy couldn't do).

Good times are ahead #HookEm

But seriously i think UT still has a say.. they are keeping the LHN headquarters in Austin and will be using it under the SEC umbrella. I'm confident that down the line the SEC will use Jerry World to play the CCG and maybe even rotate media days in Dallas.

The conference isn't dumb, there's money to be made in the state of Texas.. Dallas is a hotbed. Doesn't mean that Evil Texas is trying to take over the conference..

or is it....

The key is.. will anyone outside aggy be thin skinned and begin to become a black cloud like Nebraska did as soon as they arrived in the Big12?

tejas arrived in the Big 8/12.
Nebraska did not arrive in the SWC.
The 'black cloud' has always been tejas.

And LOL thinking tejas will have the same influence as Bama.

I would and remember grown men don’t wear jerseys. Those are reserved for children and hot girls only.
never that.. i'll stop ordering dry fit Nike UT polos.. Switch over to the oxford or maybe something a little bit easier in transition..vinyard UT t-shirts?

I’d go ahead and get some Sperry shoes as well so that you are outfitted completely. Sunglasses are optional but if you paid less than $150 leave them in the car.

gotcha.. i'll leave my costa's in my pickup.. break out my burberry aviators.. Thanks for the tip #SEC #AllInTheSameGang

What I was referring to is it was Oklahoma and Texas that set the rest of the schools up for big payouts in the Big XII. Without those two schools everyone else would have been getting a helluva lot less money over the years. I'm not totally opposed to equal revenue sharing if there isn't just a couple of schools generating the lion's share of the (shared) revenue. In the SEC there are several schools that more than pull their weight.
This is true GB. But, there are still several in the SEC that don't....just like all conferences. But, those are usually "charter" members so they are untouchable and it is "okay" to subsidize them. No?

So, which of the two of you (OU and UT) is gonna go all Aggie and make THAT video.

Make sure you have a hot blonde that says "Go Cocks".
