I understand OUs been quite comfortable at the top but pretending no one pulls the wagon is BS.
And I know you are just talking football which is humorous considering the travel partner you are heading south with hasn’t pulled their weight in years even though they have all the advantages in the world.
It's not about pulling weight on the field or on the courts.. it's about Brand power.. WV could have won back to back CFP titles, and still be in the same situation as now.

A lawyer on twitter said that if the remaining Big12 schools sue UT for breaking the GOR... good luck. Apparently UT is a sovereign immunity state and they won't get a dime. It's the same reason why Leach can't get the rest of his money from Tech.

I'm pretty confident that UT and ou begin SEC play next fall ('22).
In the United States, sovereign immunity typically applies to the federal government and state government, but not to municipalities, corporations or individuals. Federal and state governments, however, have the ability to waive their sovereign immunity. The University of Texas wouldn't be covered under sovereign immunity. But David Boren was largely responsible for writing the GOR agreement and he is one sharp cookie who was looking out for OU's long term interests. Before they spend a lot of money on lawyers, those schools should go ask Boren if they have a chance in hell of winning a GOR lawsuit.

Oh boy, that is the football talk I come here to read.

Guess where the Big12 headquarters are located in? This is why aggy, baylor, and Tech's last ditch effort (really pathetic btw) is to try and convince enough representatives in the TX house to oppose this

You're angry. I understand. But I think West Virginia is going to end up in a conference that is a lot better fit for you anyway. "Pulling the wagon" mostly refers to how many people watch the games because a certain team is playing. Yeah Texas sucks but they've got a whole lot of people watching them suck. The other way a team (in any sport) can "pull the wagon" is to beat their out of conference opponents and win their bowl games, March Madness games, College World Series games, etc. It's all a process. But some of the schools in the Big XII have fallen flat on their ass in different ways and it's finally caught up with them. Don't worry; WVU is going to be fine.
It’s not so much anger as it’s what’s the definition of pulling your weight? Many in most conferences don’t on many different levels. That won’t change when you go to the SEC.

As for WVU, our fate lies with the ACC or we are a G5 team forever.

Most teams are in that situation. Changing conferences won’t change that.

Texas is a "Sovereign Immunity' state.

OK

The Big 12 took the extra step of incorporating in Delaware where the law makes it less likely members could cite sovereign immunity to keep from being sued by the league.

Possible. Texas, OU and the SEC could come up with the money to make it happen. That's a 9.5 mil each parting gift for the remaining schools. Hope they spend it wisely.
Hot dang! Baylor needs a new legal defense team

I take it from this statement that you have never met Texas.

man, ya’ll in for a big fucking shock.
y'all are making waaay too much into this.. WIll TX have a say on certain things? of course they will.. same way how Bama has a say over Vandy or UK..

The key is.. will anyone outside aggy be thin skinned and begin to become a black cloud like Nebraska did as soon as they arrived in the Big12?

Again good luck to the rest of the members.. Big12 leadership are idiots and the presidents know better, they all are looking at exit strategies right now.. not about hey let's make UT and ou PAY!!!!

I'm probably being provincial but the school I'm most concerned about not being harmed is Oklahoma State. They've done everything right but just had the misfortune of being in the same state as OU. WVU will be fine. And fuck Kansas; they're a one trick pony who has mooched off the conference for way too long. Some other schools have done a good job of trying to improve (TCU, for example) but Baylor is despicable. Iowa State has done a great job of improving its football program, etc. But Oklahoma State has pretty much done everything right across the board and they may be in a real bind. That does suck.
