My mom turned 69 a months ago - for a present her doctor told her that her brain is shrinking rapidly and referred her to a neurologist. She's a little concerned about what that means.

Sorry, that's more of my trying to make light of a very concerning situation - I do that sometimes. It a coping issue, my wife would've hit me for that "joke", probably for good reason.
