Only idiots expected a lot from them, but it's equally idiotic to act like Deion did something completely amazing.

He built a whole new team from the portal for the most part, he did not take the bulk of that same 1 win team from last year and turn them into a respectful 4 win team. That's not how it went down at all. He brought a whole new team with him, beat nobody with a winning record, had some embarrassing losses and it all culminated in a 6 game losing streak to end the year

I am ashamed to admit that I have forgotten more about CFB recruiting than you will ever know.

Relationships, you say? What you meant to say was relationships with high school coaches, 7 on 7 coaches and organizers, etc. Do you really think Warren Sapp is tied into the high school coaching network? Do you really think he is prepared to make the sacrifices to go do the dirty work of recruiting? There is no indication that Deon is.

Please regale us with Sapp being a beast high school recruiter. All the high school games he goes to, and the visits to hundreds of high schools over the years. The high school association rubber chicken dinners he has attended to develop those relationships. Throw in how he has been a beast sitting in living rooms across the country and in South Florida relating to momma and grandma about how Colorado, some school he has no relationship (there's that word again) to, that is 1800 miles away, and where momma and grandma can't go and see their boy play, is the perfect destination for their son to play for a narcissistic coach who has receipts and Gucci.

Unfortunately, I know shit - way too much shit about recruiting in CFB. The idea that Warren Sapp will all the sudden be this recruiting machine is absurd.

Obviously it’s worked for him with 2 sports but it comes with a price at times as well

You can't build OL and DL the way that Deon is not recruiting HS OL and DL, that's for sure. We agree on that. And you can't build it taking transfer portal cast-offs. OL and DL are developmental positions. You need them on campus for 3-4 years. Do you think Deon will be there in 3-4 years? He literally ran off several OL and DL that played well at the teams the went to. Great job.

If you can't read a couple hundred words, not sure what to say. It's clear you don't know shit about recruiting.

BTW, South Florida is a great area to recruit. You can't have a position coach, of which there are 10, dedicated to one area like that. Especially when you have no idea if he can coach. Also, if you really want to compete, find someone who can recruit in Texas, Georgia, and Alabama. That is way better than just South Florida where you have to convince a SoFla kid to go 1800 miles to the snowy Rockies to play football for a coach who will be gone in a couple years.

No high level transfers are going to go there. He's REALLY going to end up with castoffs who are at best marginally better than what they already had.

The most egregious of all is that he blames his OL but doesn't even coach them, which is why that OG de-committed. I'd imagine that 6' 8" RT they have will transfer as well.
