The Intro to the Chiefs/Texans Game

Even as a son of a Marine who was taught you fucking stand and out your right hand over your heart (or your hat with your right hand, if you are wearing it) I can agree with this point.

There really is no need for the anthem at most of these events.
I hate it.

the NFL loooooooves to pander.

Hope yer not busy today.

Get ready for a day-long retardfest.
I took today off to go bust wood for my great uncle. I love him and I hate it that he’s gotten so down in his legs, but I’d love to be busy at work right now. I’m sweating like a whore in church

The NFL is contractually obligated to sell patriotism. They sold out to the US military a decade ago.

I love 87 year old Korean War vet farmers, you got me

I'm not a hyper sensitive snowflake. I skip the nonsense, and always have.

At home, I don't watch games until kickoff.

At a stadium, It's rare that I'm in my seat during that time. Usually still at the tailgate. But when I'm there, I will stand silent out of respect for my country. I'm unique I guess...

Sounds snowflakey to me

I don't think you are at all unique. There are plenty of Americans who are wrong just like you.

isn't standing for the flag during the National Anthem a political statement in itself?

sounds like they see political statements they approve of...

and this shows that it wasn't just about the flag and how they considered kneeling disrespecting it.

NFL fans need to grow up.
They didn't boo during the national anthem, they booed when the players locked arms for a moment of silence.
And to be fair the Texans went back into the locker room prior to the National Anthem and the new song to represent social justice.

You mean the black national anthem that has been in existence for 120 years?
