Nebraska Cornhuskers The Official 10000 posts for a Husker Conference Championship

So, I finally watched both Mich and Minn games. I think Frost is back if he can go 2-2 in the last 4. He might even come back if 1-3 depending how the 3 losses look. Here's what I saw. The team is definitely better, I feel like they are good o-line play away from winning. If he gets a new o-line coach with experience, those young guys are going to turn the corner. I think the D has depth and even with losses of some good guys should stay strong next year. I'm indifferent on AM. He's just so inconsistent, if he has a tendency to hold the ball too long and misses the open guy and misses some easy throws too often. Between that and the bad o-line play the offense stalls way too much. It's why the statistics say we should be a better team but aren't because of them never being able to consistently put it together.

Mich, refs were atrocious. Calls going both ways but NU definitely got the worse of it. But I didn't see a problem with AMs fumble call, gotta hold the ball to the whistle. Again, they were right there, but left way too many points on the field and it's a combination of poor o-line play and some poor playcalling. Sometimes I think SF just over thinks it too much and tries to do something that our o-line just can't do.

Minn - D decided not to show up and that really hurt. Probably a combo of PJ being good at scheming coming off a bye and some sort of let down between Mich and Chindalers dad's death. Felt like they took control in the 3rd until the goal line stand. AM was in on the 3rd down play, can't believe they didn't give that to him. Then Yant tripping on 4th. I feel like if they put that in, they would have pulled it out.

Hoping we can put a beat down on Purdue and we'll see what happens against OSU.

Regardless Of refs. We need to play mistake free football. We can go 4-0 if we do that

Now. How much can you coach a kid not to fumble it or false start or late hit?

Wait, you actually think OSU could lose to Huskers. Thanks for the laugh

OSU, they have literally played no one since losing to Oregon. Indiana was good last year but clearly took a huge step back this year and that was probably their best opponent. They know how to beat inferior teams, so we'll see how they look today against PSU.

but i do agree it would need to be a perfect game by the Huskers to win.

Perfect game for Huskers and a terrible game for Buckeye's is combo needed for Huskers to not get blown out IMO

Defense being too bendy.

How can the Coaches be happy with their game planning and player prep for today’s game? We have zero chance with OSU, Wisconsin, and Iowa. They out coach, out play, and out shine us every time we play them. Since 2015 we are 0-6 versus all three of these teams. With the turnover king running our offense there is nothing to get excited about (in a good way).

So, when will the media hacks ask the $64 question(s)??????????????????????????????????????????

what does $20,000,000 buy you when you retire in Mexico?

I was thinking more of the line like;

- Coach Frost, how long will you continue to play Adrian, since it is obviously he can't get the job down?
- Coach Frost, are you concerned that after 4 years here the team has declined in performance and showing no improvement?
- Coach Frost, if you continue to losing in this manner, how long do you expect to remain the head coach at Nebraska?

Now I know some will say "well at least they are not getting blown out" on their loses, But if moral victories is what this program is after, well then continue on

Those are all legit questions.

mine’s just a little more direct.

I see improvement in some players. It's the lack of improvement in the QB and oline that is killing the team.

Oh and the defense giving WRs a 10 yd cushion, that was fine in year 1 when we felt our talent was low but why aren't we doing what ever other team does and freaking cover them close? I'm sick of it. Let's throw every dollar we can at Luke Fickell.

This is the exact play where I felt like the game turned. We had a 9 yard run on first down. It was good to take a chance like this, but look at the WR smoke the corner at the bottom and AM unwilling to throw it (maybe safety over top recovered or something) but the left tackle gets smoked by a guy that started the play late.

I believe the next play is an AM scramble, should have been a first down but AM makes the mental mistake and doesn't stretch the football over the line.

The thought is replacing AM never crossed his mind.

It’s not his job to motivate the players

Not sure that was addressed yesterday as Trev was at his son’s wedding.
