Its probably best he's leaving. Smothers had a couple rushing tds. A 4th qtr fumble and a pick on his final throw. All the makings of a Nebraska 4 year starter.

What quality OC is gonna want to come to Nebraska considering that Frost is a lame duck HC?
Same goes for the other 'position' coaching jobs that are open.

Go to Lincoln Nebraska for one season, Frost gets fired, and you have to find another job?

Wish him well, will be interesting to see where he goes and if he ends of starting. I really don't see him going to any good P5 teams.

I think Frost gets 2 seasons, I mean the schedule next year is easier, if the O and ST can improve, which are the people he is hiring, they are gambling on themselves. Not to mention the pay raise that more than likely comes with it. I wouldn't be surprised if they pay the OC 750k or more.

Do potential new assistants see two seasons though?

Regarding the schedule..... Nebraska was tied for dead last in the west. They still have to play THAT west schedule, so I don't get the "easier" part.
 
Could Mickey Joseph have been retained at LSU and Bryan Kelly? If so I would not make the jump to uncertainty at NU even if it was my alma mater.

Martinez played hurt most of his career because our line play was garbage with poorly instructed players being overwhelmed. With Frost playing OC, there was no adjustments to what Iowa changed on defense after halftime. Amateurish coaching, amateurish results.

I'm wondering if SF is targeting Army's OC and OL coach, Brent Davis. He'll be the run game OC, since Mickey has passing game OC per the release.
 
Daniels declared. Big loss. Our run D was way better with him in there. Nash hopefully makes a big leap, he did decent against Iowa but not great.
 
I'm thinking 2-9 next year. Looks like the biggest laugh on this is the B1G buying into bringing In Huskers in 2011. They have really under performed across the board on main sports programs. Academia wise the university lags behind big time, it is a negative to the league. However, the $$$$ talks, so as long as the league keeps then, guess all is good.

Ha, OK, lets go 3-9, my bad. They may go 4-8, but right know it looks like a pretty bad team that will fight for Frost and his job. I really couldn't see Trev keeping him around for another year if Frost doesn't get to a 6-6 record at least. The schedule is not that bad, so maybe they will surprise.
