The worst kind of college football fan?

There’s only 3 bowls that mean anything. The semis and the final. The rest are all meaningless, but they’re football. Calling for less football is shitty when you can simply not watch
How do you feel about the DH in MLB?

I hate to admit it, but after having it this year, I liked it. Saves managers from themselves when a starter is pitching a gem late in a close game
But why would you have not liked it before? Just don't want AL games, and maybe skip the Braves interleague played on the road?

Same deal. Just because you can avoid it doesn't mean that it doesn't cheapen the overall sport.

When I was a kid, Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz could all hit, Tim Hudson could too, but now, most pitchers can’t even reliably lay down a sac bunt.

I think no DH is a more pure form of the game, but it doesn’t cheapen the product. Also, no true fan is gonna skip a chunk of the season because they don’t like a rule.

Well they have an option to just not watch it, while others do enjoy seeing bit hitters able to stick around in the league even after they are too old to play defense.

It's just a (somewhat bad) point about why having a handful of bowl games being played by teams that went 5-8 and even CFB super fans can't locate the school on a map even taking into consideration the directionality of their schools name just waters down the sport and is boring.

How does it water down the sport? Bowls have always been and will always be meaningless regardless of how many there are.

You don’t like em, don’t watch, but under no circumstance do you try to ruin it for those who enjoy them

"Played in their record 18th bowl in row" level shit is why.

Who cares? If Va Tech doesn’t make a bowl, UGA will take over the longest active bowl streak. Doesn’t matter. It means about as much as Florida’s record for most games without being shutout. It’s always been that way.

“Let’s make the shortest season in sports even shorter and have fewer games to watch and bet on even though a lot of people enjoy them and I’m in no way forced to watch”

How about we meet in the middle and keep the bowls but replace trophies for all the shitty bowls with green ribbons?

Let’s add to the list the guys that were advocating for the season to be canceled for COVID.
Every fucking one of them. Pretty sure mnb olyfuck an unfortunate huskers fan with some numbers in his name were all giddy hoping they could watch the season get cancelled before it started

Wait....there are actually trophies for non ny6 games???

The bowls have value for the vast majority of the players eligible. For that vast majority, it will be the last game experience in their lives. When they are underclassmen, it also represents another 20+ practices with game prep. That is an extra spring camp of practices and we saw this year how valuable they are.

Plus the swag bags, can't forget all the swag

You love even shitty football? I mean I love the sport but I want to watch teams that are good at it.
I have money riding on pretty well every bowl game every year. Gambling is my real love

Factor in that aside from the CFP, any good player who a bowl game would be their last game before going to the NFL is likely to sit out, and the games are even more difficult to watch.

I assumed so. They have money to give away. :noidea:
I think anybody putting a bowl trophy in a trophy case that isnt a big bowl game (orange rose etc) should be ashamed of themselves.

They should refuse the trophy and opt for 150 packs of bubblegum
