Another sad update for those that have followed this thread. My father-in-law passed away early Wednesday morning. My MIL checked on him at 7 am only to call hospice due to no response. Officially pronounced at 9 am.
My wife and kids left today to spend time with the family, as there won't be a service, and plans to return home this coming Wednesday. They're currently watching old home movies and reminiscing of a man that spent 20+ years of his adult life as a bachelor, only to join a "ready made" family with my MIL and my wife, who was 2 at the time. Adopted my wife and had two daughters of his own. Got to see 3 of his grandchildren, including Milo, and a legacy of being a kind, patient, caring, and above all, a great man/father that his family will long remember.
