GAME Thursday night NCAAF

Sometimes you eat bad Panda Express at the students union and throw 5 picks.

Syracuse is a garbage team. As I explained earlier this year, if you plugged Howard onto that garbage team he’d be performing similarly. They are the exact same player. Syracuse asked McCord to throw SIXTY FIVE TIMES in that game. Thats unheard of.

Fun fact, only 1 Michigan QB has more than 65 pass attempts on the year…and it’s 72. lol. lol. lol.

Wonder why he had to throw it that many times? Couldn't have been because he threw three pick 6's and because of that were trailing significantly the entire time.

Howard is also surrounded by generational talent at every position while McCord is on a garbage team. I’d you plugged Howard into the Syracuse offense the result would be the same. If you plugged McCord onto the Ohio state offense they’d probably be undefeated because he wouldn’t have slid away the game against Oregon.

You mean just like McCord was surrounded by it last year? And McCord was terrible against ranked competition last year. Look up the stats against Michigan, PSU and ND. Hell throw in Wisconsin which was their 4th hardest game. Howard had 340 total yards of offense, 3 TD's, 0 INT's and completed 80% of his passes with a QBR of 94.1 in that game.

Because Syracuse isn't a good team. He had to pass so much because his RB went 15 for 32 yards....

Quit looking at yards. He avg like 20 more attempts per game. I'd hope he have more yards.

Howard has the easiest job, kinda like McCord last season?

I'd say if you put Howard on Cuse, they'd be 6-0. McCord threw 2 2nd half INT's against, of all teams, Stanford, including a pick 6, and they lost by 2.

McCord has zero chance at playing on Sunday. My God what a hilarious take.
Yes -- McCord threw for 3200 yards and was 11-1 as a first year starter at OSU last year.

And zero chance Howard would have Cuse 6-0 -- Howard threw for 46 tds and 25 ints in 4 years at KSU while completing 59% of his passes. Now he would take a Cuse team who was 5-7 the year prior, who has no NFL talent at skill position and he'd have them undefeated.

McCord was good last year. That was always my point. He finished the season 14th in QBR. 25th in YPG. Neither of these players are elite QBs.

Howard ranked 54th in QBR last year and 50th in YPG.

Of course it's going to flip this year that Howard is now surrounded by elite talent and McCord is on a bad team. Being on an elite team is very literally the difference between these two players. Not to mention, some could even argue that Howard is surrounded by even more elite talent than McCord was at OSU because of their portal expenditures in the offseason.

Setting up for a couple huge games for the ACC and Pitt the next few weeks. Pitt goes up against SMU next week and Clemson in a few.

McCord

35 of 64 (54.5%)
5 Interceptions
0 TD's

DiS a GrEaT qB gUiSe

Never said it was it’s great. It was clearly an awful game. But McCord = Howard. That’s always been the argument.

No he wasn't. He was mediocre at best despite having multiple elite pass catching options. He provides zero upside with his legs, and was routinely bailed out by Harrison. Howard has been better this year than McCord last year across the board, both passing and rushing. I know it pains you idiots to admit you were wrong, but you were.

"mediocre at best"

top 15 QB in terms of QB rating.....

I'm not sure in any world is a top 15 QB "mediocre at best". That's a good QB. Both QB's are solid QB's. Both QB's did worse at the school not named Ohio State

McCord was terrible against ranked competition last year. His stats weren't all that great all things considered.

And yeah sure. If you can proclaim them to have some type of record, so can I. I mean it's not a coincidence the two games Syracuse has lost he's been terrible in both.

So far Ohio State has played one of the easier schedules through the first half of the season and in the one tough game they played, Oregon, Will Howard very literally lost Ohio State the game because of his bonehead play at the end....

Howard has been significantly better this year than McCord was last year. Especially against ranked competition. He's a much better fit as well because he's not a statue back there. And what do you know, OSU's sack rate is significantly lower this year as well. And I don't think OSU's line has any significant upgrades, they got the lineman from Bama, but @Across The Field would know better than I.

He also went 28/35 with 326 yards and 2 TDs, and also ran for a touchdown. The last play was bad, but I'd say OSU lost that game more because their defense couldn't really stop Oregon (496 yards at 7.6 yards per play)

Also, OSU ranks 18th in SoS per Sports-Reference

Given what McCord did against ranked teams, you honestly think he would have even had OSU in that position to win the game? Not a chance. McCord is terrible against ranked teams. He has 10 TD's and 8 INT's in his career against ranked teams.

Dude just stop. Saying Will Howard lost that game bc of one play at the end where he was trying to get us in field goal range is dumb even for you.

There are about twenty different things i would blame that loss on before will Howard's late slide, especially when you look at how he played overall.

Yes. Especially on this OSU team which is arguably more talented than the 2023 version.

"terrible against ranked teams" huh?

He did terrible against Michigan.....but other than that, he had a total of 4 picks on the entire season outside of the Michigan game. He finished last year with 24 TD passes and 6 total picks. Will Howard has 3 picks so far halfway through the season.
