Time to Fire Ryan Day

doesn't have to be black just moderately agile. He is a non factor out of the pocket.

Ewers would've been fine if he wasn't a giant pussy and left OSU because he couldn't hack it.
I'm very interested in seeing what Kienholz can do. He's the best athlete in the room at OSU right now, and he was elite in multiple sports. Agility wouldn't be an issue, and you're right, we need someone who can move the pocket and also pick up yards on 2nd/3rd with his feet.

So Devin Brown is not a factor?

not gonna lie, I've been rather happy you guys haven't had a superstar lineman since Young. Having a stud DL can really have an impact
Any more of them Bosa brothers laying around?

I look at what McCarthy did from his second to third year and it's reason for optimism. McCord was largely better this year than JJ was in 2022, and he's still going to be surrounded with high end weapons. The OL is my concern, but we should return most of it and the portal is always open.

McCord's problem is mental wise the game is just too fast for him still, he sees the field still like he's a freshman making his first start. He's not a "YOUNG QB" like people want to claim, this was his 3rd year in the program and this was his fucking 12th start of the season. ZERO improvement with the mental intangibles throughout the season.

Guy would be a nice QB for like Purdue, but we aren't winning anything with him as our starter. He's not a guy who's going to make those crucial plays in a game like the Michigan game. He's a guy who's going to make crippling mistakes that lose those kinds of games.

Don’t know why you wanna knock Purdue. They’ve produced better NFL QB’s than OSU even if you exclude Drew Brees

So Devin Brown is not a factor?

Brown has been hurt off and on since the spring, it's hard to tell what he really brings.

From what I saw though his passing game needs a ton of work, he's definitely more athletic and mobile than McCord though.

Maybe a hopefully full healthy bowl practice session and a full healthy spring next year will have him much sharper heading into 2024 though.

McCord acted like he knew he was going to get smashed every play because the Oline was not protecting. He rushed almost everything.

He completely locks in on 1 receiver from the moment the ball is snapped way too much too.

That game killing INT that gave Michigan a easy TD was one of the worst INTs i've ever seen a Ohio State QB throw.

lol

it's literally been Kyle Orton then in your lifetime.

Jim Everett was nice though

I think we may seriously want to consider hitting the transfer portal for a stop gap QB. Is there gonna be a Sam Hartman type guy in the portal this year?

McCord isn't that guy and I don't think Brown is either unless he can make a significant jump throwing the ball between now and next summer.

I like Keinholz but going from playing HS ball in bumfuck South Dakota to major college football takes a quite a bit of adjusting. He probably needs another year. Noland is nice too, but starting a true freshman? doubt it

I agree, horrible. However later in the game he was getting to his check down.

O’Connell on the Raiders too

well then we get to throw Krenzel Pryor bobby hoying and Troy Smith and Fields and Haskins in there too lol. I will avoid laying claim to Burrow...

Obviously OSU was a total wasteland for qbs (other than Sclichter who was a criminal) for much of its existence though

there is no debating that point. And up to CJ they've not produced one worthy of a pro bowl. Which is pretty crazy.

UGA hasn’t been much at QB outside of Stafford. Think Quincy Carter and Jake Fromm are the only other UGA QB’s to even start an NFL game in my lifetime, and Fromm was so bad, they had him run a QB sneak on third and 9.

Have a couple HOFers from way back in the day though in Fran Tarkenton and Charley Trippi(Trippi wasn’t a true QB, but handled most of the passing duties, so I’m counting him)

It’s coming

"Things going awry" to me would mean we lose to Michigan State (road) & Iowa (home) and already have 2 losses before even playing Oregon, and then lose to Oregon as well (which would make us 3-3). Somehow I doubt that happens.

Desmond Howard is also one of the biggest morons in sports media though.

I would venture a guess that losing two games with one of them being to Michigan and Day comes down with an illness that requires him to spend more time with his family at the end of the season.

If he loses to this Michigan team at home this year I don't know how he survives. It would have to be a situation where Michigan is the only loss and then he happens to win the national title to save his job at that point.
