tOfficial 2022 NFL Draft Thread

My father-in law was upset that the Packers didn't trade up for an elite WR. I told him it's not in their MO...

He will be one of the first 3 off the board in round 2. Teams overnight are all looking there and trying to figure out how to trade up.
I hope he's gone so the Packers don't have a shot at him, feel remorseful and pick Leo Chenal at #59

Gonna say Aiden Hutchinson and Kair Elam will be the biggest busts in the first round. Hutchinson got manhandled by a day 3 tackle in the biggest game of his life and Elam regressed last year

Chenal would have value as a pass rusher despite playing middle LB at Wisconsin.

Trading up to take a guy hobbled by an ACL tear is the most Detroit thing ever.
The dude ran like a 4.58 40 after just 13 weeks of rehab. ACLs are typically stronger after they are repaired so very little risk and he will be ready to play by training camp.

It's really not that big of a risk. Now a knee and I would think twice.

Few thoughts, ACL recoveries are almost a guarantee now days. 2. Prior to the injury, he was considered the best WR in the class and 3. The lions don't need him this year at all. I think it's a great move, and really all they gave up was a 3rd round pick and 12 spots in the 2nd round. All said and done, Detroit might have grabbed the best defensive and offensive player in the draft.

Williams was the best WR in the draft and the Lions hit a home run with this pick. He is projected to be ready by mid October.

Exactly. If they were thinking WR with the late 1st round or the 2nd round pick, they came out hugely on top here. Got one of the few elite WRs in the class and gave up almost nothing to do it. It was one of those trades you hear someone talk about before the draft as fantasy like, "Why would Minnesota ever give up the 12 for that?"

All the Lions need now is a QB to throw him the ball.

Given there were no super elite QB's in the class this year, and the Lions having 2 first round picks again next year, this makes all the sense in the world. When they do get a QB in, they'll have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, a really good set of RB's, and the Lions have added Amon-Ra St. Brown, D.J. Chark, and Jameson Williams to their WR room. The rest of this draft should focus on defensive players, especially in the secondary. But IMO they're setting this up nicely to support a QB whenever they're able to get one.
