If Nebraska was the home team, I definitely think it would have been a more attractive option and maybe the correct one. But with it being at Purdue that takes a lot of excitement out of it.

Spoilermakers vs. undefeated Nebraska? They could sell that IMO

But will fans even show up? I mean I guess a shit ton of Nebraska fans could make the trip to help out the atmosphere. Lol. Nebraska will do to them what ND did.

Nebraska fans will be there. Shit, they showed up to Autzen in huge numbers when their team sucked. They'll figure out how to get to Indiana when they're undefeated.

Apparently, BTN is getting a game on 9/28 that's starting at 10:30. My guess is that it's Oregon vs. UCLA. My guesses would be:

Nebraska at Purdue - 12:00 | FS1
Minnesota at Michigan - 12:00 | FOX
Wisconsin at USC - 3:30 | CBS
Illinois at Penn State - 7:30 | NBC
Oregon at UCLA - 10:30 | BTN

Exciting we get Illinois/Nebraska on Friday. I think Huskers win handedly but it is still a good test for them.

Saturday we get to see USC, Washington start their B1G schedule

2-0 Rutgers takes on Virginia Tech

Sparty travels to Boston to take on a good BC squad

Iowa/Minny should be a defensive grinder/close game

I don't think UCLA/LSU is worth even watching unless UCLA pulls a massive surprise

UCLA looks like a pretty terrible football team. LSU should easily win.

10:30 ET? thats like 7:30 AM in LA. strong doubt.

It's going to be interesting to see what Michigan looks like on Saturday. I'm happy they're going to Orji and we can at least see what an offense revolving around him looks like. Can he be a functional QB? He doesn't need to be McCarthy, but if he can pose enough of a threat to occasionally pop the ball downfield it can really open things up for the running game. The other question is going to be the defense. Martindale toned it down with the blitzing against Ark State, but is that the beginning of a trend or is it just a matter of opponent? If the offense can't sustain drives and the defense is on the field a lot, they're eventually going to get worn down like they did against UT.

Interested to see how Raiola does tomorrow. Illinois is the first defense he plays against with a pulse, though I think Nebraska wins handedly. This game could be a bit of a rock fight.

Guessing this means Minnesota vs. Michigan will be Big Noon, which is yuck. Surprised Illinois/PSU didn't get the 6 day hold. If Illinois wins Friday, could have been a top 15 matchup.

Apparently CBS and Fox have swapped times for 9/28. And Fox has the first selection. Since the Fox afternoon games typically start at 4:00, that does still put Illinois and PSU in play for Fox. As I said earlier BTN is getting a game at 10:30 pm. It does make it difficult to pick, because a lot depends on this weekend. Oregon vs. UCLA is most likely the 10:30 BTN game. No matter how it shakes out CBS is going to get the worst game. Guessing it's Minnesota at Michigan.

Official guesses:

Nebraska at Purdue - 12:00 | FS1
Minnesota at Michigan - 12:00 | CBS
Wisconsin at USC - 4:00 | Fox
Illinois at Penn State - 7:30 | NBC
Oregon at UCLA - 10:30 | BTN

BIG NOON: Oklahoma State at Kansas State

Miller Moss hasn't been a killer through the air but he is very accurate. If michigan can't get to him without a blitz he's going to be effective. They absolutely have to slow down USC's offense to have a chance to win, because Orji is not the answer. He's a total liability as a passer and they can't just have him run the whole time.

BIG NOON: Oklahoma State at Kansas State
This is a perfect example of which country club you belong to matters. Okie Lite/K-State looks to be the best game of those six. But it will probably have the lowest viewership.

It depends if Big Noon Kickoff is actually at Oklahoma State/Kansas State, that will certainly help with the pre promotion of the game. I would guess it would probably be the 2nd highest rated game. Nobody is watching Purdue, Minnesota and Illinois. So all those games are going to have to get pull from Nebraska, Michigan and PSU respectively. Michigan hasn't drawn as nearly as good as they did a year ago through 3 weeks. And Purdue/ND only did like 2.5 million, so I'd expect that game to be slightly less.

I could see that game getting a boost if that is the case. But those other three are all B1G games. Don't many of those lower level B1G teams outdraw most ACC/Big 12 teams even when they aren't playing any of the B1G brand names?

I was under the impression that schools like Okie Lite, K-State etc would only draw larger numbers if one of the teams is having a magical season ala TCU in 2022. And only then later in the season. No?

I'll defer to you. You know a lot more than I do about this. I am just curious.

If you take away the game against Texas, Michigan is drawing about 15% less in their games against lower tier teams(which I'd classify Minnesota as because they aren't a draw). If both teams lose this weekend(which is projected), I'd be surprised if that game gets over 3 million. Purdue vs. ND didn't get to 3 million(maybe because of the blowout) so I think something similar could happen against Nebraska. I could see PSU/Illinois drawing more than Oklahoma State/Kansas State, but I do think it will be close.

If Kstate/Oklahoma State are both undefeated, I'd project right around 4 million or so(if it is Big Noon Kickoff). I think USC/Wisconsin will top that, and maybe PSU/Illinois(if they win tonight)

Nebraska/Purdue on Peacock. Pretty huge day for Peacock on Saturday:

Nebraska vs. Purdue at Noon
Louisville vs. ND at 3:30
OSU vs. Michigan State at 7:00

Apparently the Fox/CBS swap that was rumored was just that. Fox gets Big Noon with Minnesota vs Michigan.

I'm hoping OSU can do to Sparty what they did in 2021 so by 7:30 I can go back to my regular TV app to watch UGA/Bama.
