Cornelius Johnson who had the 2 long TD catches against OSU decided to come back now and one of our starting LB's is coming back now too. NIL is the only reason for it.
Kris Jenkins just announced he's coming back, which IMO might be the second biggest deal behind Corum. Next year's team is loaded and it's weird to have this many expectations. After 2021 we lost so much talent it was like "how can they reload" and now that we reloaded, won it again and most of those guys are coming back....this might be the first time in a very long time that Michigan is the favorite to win the B10.

Good. Let the pressure be on someone else for a change.

If that new QB works out for Penn State they could be dangerous as well.

If he showed what he did against Georgia all year he very well could have been.
I'm torn on Stroud. He could go either way in the NFL. If he fell to the Lions, who have one of the best and youngest Offensive Lines in the NFL -- I think he could have a very good career.

If he gets picked by a team who isn't stacked on the OL -- he is in serious trouble. He just doesn't do well when dealing with pressure, he gets happy feet and that won't work in the NFL where everyone can run. Will be interesting to see where he goes.

Indy seems most logical -- I think they have a good offensive line, so that may work. Plus they play indoors, so he won't deal with weather. Best of luck to him wherever he goes.

The Texans are Stroud's worst nightmare. Carolina isn't much better off either.

It takes a generational type talent to be able to go into the NFL and play QB with a terrible o line. However, Stroud dealt with a lot of pressure against Georgia and held up against it really well. The second touchdown pass to Harrison was something I had never seen him do before to that degree. Add that to the fact that he was finally willing to take off when that was the best opportunity presented to him and it was impressive

The issue most QB's have in the NFL is -- you are no longer throwing to wide open receivers all the time. You have to start anticipating throws more and throwing guys open. You also will be throwing on the run a lot more as you will get pressured.

I think that is why OSU QB's have struggled so much in the NFL -- in their offense, there are very few throws like that. The WR's they have, they will always have a huge advantage against any secondary. Haskins was the guy I thought who could buck that trend, but even he struggled immensely.

Stroud reminds me of Haskins -- looks extremely accurate if he has all the time to make a throw, but if you get him to move his feet, he really struggles. Will be interesting to see where he ends up. Never in a million years would I think I'd be saying -- his bet option is if the Lions take him, but that's his best option.

Carolina may not be too bad -- they are a really good running team, so he could probably get a lot of single coverage. They have DJ Moore. It'd like a million years better than the Texans.

I want him to go to LV but they are dumb and are going to take Levis

Not sure "getting him to move his feet he really struggles" is the right term. He throws plenty accurate still on the run and has thrown a lot of accurate balls while taking a hit. He also progresses through reads so much faster than Haskins ever did.

His issue with the rush was his utter refusal to use his feet until it was too late and his only option was to retreat. It's why that Georgia game was so big for him as he showed great escapability against a heavy rush for really the first time

I don't think Stroud will be on the board when LV picks and I think Tom Brady to LV will happen this offseason.

He is going to either the Texans, Colts, or if a mystery team trades the house to move up to 1 and takes him over Bryce Young. But I don't see him dropping past those two teams.

Yeah I agree. They would have to trade up for him.

He completed 72% of his passes for 35 touchdowns with a clean pocket and had a 94.4 grade

He completed 41% of his passes for 6 touchdowns when he was pressured and had a 42.0 grade

You pressure him -- you can make him make mistakes. That's what worries me about him in the NFL.

There's a reason all these OSU QB's fail in the NFL -- they're all the same. They go through college racking up crazy stats against Nebraska, throwing to NFL WR's, with an NFL line in front of them and an NFL RB taking pressure off. Then hit the NFL and can't do anything under pressure. Never bet on an OSU QB to succeed. Even if he drops to the Lions I don't want them to take him, they all fail or are below average.

Using your logic no one would have ever drafted Patrick Mahomes. "He is just another QB from Texas Tech that racks up stats bc of the system."

Why did anyone draft an Alabama QB?

You're an idiot if you think CJ Stroud "is the same" as every other Ohio State QB.

Does he have guaranteed success in the NFL? No, no one does but ignoring the individual bc of what college he played for is dumb

You think he was surrounded by crazy talent at Texas Tech?

Alabama QB's tend to not work out either.....for the exact same reason. Tua and Mack Jones are really it and those are extremely recent.

CJ will fail in the NFL, there's no doubt in my mind. As already pointed out, as soon as he's pressured he sucks. The NFL is nothing but getting pressured.

At least here you are looking at the individual instead of "he's from Ohio State" like a nimrod

That plays into it. OSU QB's all fail for basically the exact same reason.

So Craig Krenzel failed for the same reason as Troy Smith who failed for the same reason as JT Barrett who failed for the same reason as Dwayne Haskins? You went back to stupid again

From Troy Smith on, the reason has been the same.

Wrong. Troy Smith and Haskins both had maturity and work ethic issues. Troy was also pretty short.

Pryor and Barrett were simply never going to be good enough passers to be in the NFL. Barrett lacked arm strength. Pryor lacked accuracy.

Cardale Jones lacked experience and struggled throwing anything other than a deep ball.

Jury is still out on Justin Fields. He needs to improve different levels of his passing and he has the athleticism to let a team give him the time to do so
