Looks like it's handling of motion sucks and it not having local dimming and mediocre HDR would make it a no go in my house.

Samsung can be hit or miss like most brands. The days of a single brand having quality shit across the board when it comes to appliances and electronics is pretty much gone. Do your research on the specific model in question and hope and pray it doesn't shit the bed 3 months after the warranty expires.

They all get their circuit boards from the same plants, and that's where most failures occur. Usually a bad solder connection, or a hairline cut in the mapping somewhere, or a bad jumper.

These modern TVs have AI built in to them to track what you are watching and when. Nowadays you have to sign a consent form to use the TV that allows them to track you, or you don't get to use the thing.

I brought that Vizio back to Costco today. Told them I didn't like the sound, which also was sketchy.

Yep. They are built for quantity and not quality. Just the way of the world now-a-days. Most couldn't afford the product if they spent the extra time and resources to make shit like we expect them to.

Vizio just got done with a class action for selling information on users without their consent. They probably went overkill on the paperwork because of that lol

2 reasons:

1.) Even though it was passed by voters, it still requires a 2/3 majority in the state senate. Those idiots are stalled.

2.) Even if the State Senate manages to get their shit together long enough to do that. It still has to be approved by the federal government.

So, we won't be changing anytime soon.

I'm sure that the State Senate not being able to get that done is probably Trumps fault.

I did a comparison on the costco site and that was the category that was blank for this model. Fuggin' bastards! They have an older tech Samsung 65" - RU9000 Series - 4K UHD LED LCD TV that has a refresh rate of 120Hz and Motion Rate of 240. And it's only $800. Again, it's LCD, but I don't think I'm really that snobby about TVs. 🤷‍♀️

I had remembered it getting hung up because of one guy down in SoCal saying constituents were complaining, or something, but I didn't realize it had to be federally approved.
I can't see why Federal approval, if the State stops dicking around, would be a problem, since the state next door (Arizona) stopped going back and forth years ago.

I think the 240hz is just a marketing ploy so don't pay any attention to that. You'll probably be good with most any of them. I'm snobby about it to some extent because I kind of critique pictures for a living and my eyes are a little more trained for that shit than most.
