Happy to report that maxie was being nice last weekend…I just opened the compact I had in my weekend purse and there were my fake lashes, perfectly stuck to the mirror

LOL. Sounds like a drunk maxie face planted into the compact mirror...

A lesson in saving the box:

Son wanted to buy himself a new bike. I wanted to get him a used one off CL or facebroke, he wanted a brand new one. We compromised and he got a 350$ mountain bike off amuzahn, parents chipped in 130, which is what I would have been willing to pay for a used one on line. He saved his summer youth employment money up until he could buy it.

He gets it Tuesday, puts it together himself with a friend, but they notice the front disc brake is scraping. He goes on line and watches troubleshooting videos, keeps working on it, still scraping. Takes it to the bike shop a few blocks away and has them look at it: they conclude that something at the factory wasn't done right. They can fix it for 150 bucks but they suggest he return it for a replacement, because why be out another couple hundred bucks when it's a brand new bike?

I'm proud of him for the way he's handled this whole process, except for one thing: he broke down the box and threw away all the packing materials. Fortunately, recycling hasn't come yet and the box was still outside. So he taped it back together and used some bubble wrap we had lying around to protect some of the voonerable parts. Now he's hauling it to the staples to have it shipped back.

I’d be proud of him for breaking down the box. Every week on trash day I see people with stacks of boxes on the curb (which sometimes the trash guys take, sometimes not). I just want to tell them to buy a fucking box cutter and break down their shit. Don’t be lazy, people.

Oh mos def, i've taught him well how to recycle. But I also thought I had taught him to keep the box until you're absolutely sure you're keeping the item. I mean, he and his sister have played with countless boxes over the years of stuff I've ordered.

I'm holding off on any "I thought I told you..." speeches, because he's pretty bummed about having to send it back. He tried so hard to make it work, spent the better part of 2 days in the heat trying to get it right.

Speaking of recycling, anything made with recycled materials is trash.
Word. We had a party a few weeks ago and one of the guests brought three fucking cases of Dasani water. First, as Texans, fuck you for not bringing Ozarka. Second, the bottles are so fucking thin, the bottom doesn’t stay flat so they barely stand up when you try to put them in the fridge.

Recycled material clothing has zero durability.

Recycled material shoes as well.

Paper straws? The fuck outta here.

I guess It's okay for things like soap/shampoo bottles.

But fuck anything that you actually intend to "use".

:rip: garbage disposal

Gotta get a new one.

is it leaking or jammed? You got the little wrenchie for the bottom to free it up?
Both. Had a baking pan below to catch leaks but it wasn't deep enough to contain all the water.

Thankfully the overflow wasn't that much. It's 13 years old. Average life span is about 10.

Nobody is as gay as bearded flannel fags, just Saiyan

I only have one flannel I think and only wear it on extremely cold days in which I'm going to be spending a lot of time outside so I'm only a little bi-curious I guess.
