Big Horns have always fascinated me. Kinda jealous.... well other than the potentially being attacked part.

I was bitching at the wife to hurry up and take the pics before the fucker kills us.

The pic doesn't do it justice on how much darker he was than the rest. Looked black almost to the naked eye.

Is that rare or does it indicate anything specific?

Presumably, like deer, they molt and their coats change in the winter. (Deer go from red/brown to gray/dark brown.) This happens for a couple of reasons, having mostly to do with how they adapt to heat, (red/brown is better than dark), but also camouflage, as the environment is dark and gray in the winter.

I would think the older they are might affect it too, as he was clearly the biggest of the bunch.

I've never seen one as dark as he was. He was a legit toad.
