tOfficial “Weed Growers” Thread

Lost patience and harvested and dried. A little over 6 oz after 1st cleanup. A little disappointed on the yield but not the quality. def 3 hitter

I'm not going to chew you out because you're happy and that's all that matters. Now that you have grown one, do you think you will do another one next year? Or two or three. :dhd:

I'm still getting 13 1/2 hours of light here.
September 26th is the local date when daylight hits 12 hours, so I think there is more time for it to grow.

Still doesn't look very bushy.
Most outdoor growers will force it to flower by covering it, or as Hank mentioned earlier, moving it inside to a dark area.

Once you cut the hours back, you do not want ANY light touching that plant when it's in dark mode. That can confuse the plant, and cause it to "herm" out (Hermaphrodite=no bueno)

If you wait for nature to take it's course you may run out of warm days.

Genetics and soil conditions. If you have good growing conditions, stick with it.

Don't know about the genetics really, just found a single seed months ago in some green crack and planted it 2 inches in the ground and forgot about it, never thinking it would actually come up.

Mine is in the ground so I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

If frost/temp/rain become an issue, build you a simple box out of pvc and cover that shit with a good tarp.

If you wait til sept 26, I think you might be disappointed.

It'll give ya a little project to do. ;)

I'd do it anyway, just fer rain.

The average first frost her is Oct 30th, and I'm not going to bring attention to it in my back yard, so I'm going to roll the dice and hope for the best naturally.

I did hear one guy say that as soon as it starts to flower, hit it with the proper fertilizer but not to use slow release, but to use quick release to get it into the plant faster.

But I've listened to a lot of YouTubers and they each have a 'secret' of sorts.

meh to most. I've never covered a plant and everyone I've grown with has never covered an outdoor plant. We've always looked for seeds that had a maturation period of no more than 150 days though. And I've never grown one in a bucket either so there is that.

Never doing that before has me at a disadvantage here. I gladly bow to your experience here. :hail: If he's working with genetics that is not conducive to his climate, your way would be the only way to make this work. I wouldn't know what to do with it.

Which is what I mean by genetics. If the plant is accustomed to the climate, the natural clock is all that is needed. If the genetics are like from Columbia, they may be worthless in his climate.

But today, almost everyone is growing green bud from Northern climate and trying to reduce plant maturity time. Like the mephisto and that LSD25, those are 90 day seeds. I started with 18 hours and like the book says, reduce light down to 12 hours. They only grew to a height of about 3 feet though.

My outdoor plants...those are now starting to bud already and today we hit exactly 14 hours sun up to sun down. The outdoor plants will continue to mature through Mid October. Some will be ready by mid September, some will stretch it out to mid October. And the better plants will grow to a height of 10 feet and produce a shit load more quantity than the 90 day plants.

I mean, it depends on the strain, when he planted, where he lives, etc.

The 90 day seeds are autoflowering strains. Their flowering has nothing to do with light cycles and their yields are small. They're great for guerilla and indoor grows tho, cuz they're quick and small.

My lady isn't as tall as last year but is much bushier.

Last years was as tall as I am.

This year's only comes up to my chin.

Leaves aren't as broad either.

You guise know this is illegal, right? And smoking can be bad for you.

:L So I screwed that up still. I just confirmed what you said. :hail: They still turned out great. I guess they could have been even better. I got confused somewhere along the line. Mephisto is claiming they can grow in 24 hour light. But they recommend 18. Huh.

I was having problem with heat this summer and my first attempt were not auto flower so I see why I went the way I did. I ended up buying a small ac unit for the tent.

That Sucks Oh God GIF by ALLBLK

Any strain can "technically" be in 18-24 hours of light during the vegetative state. 24 puts a lot of pressure on them tho, and the air, co2, humidity, and nutes need to be just right. Excluding autoflowering strains, you can keep a plant in its vegetative state forever by not cutting the lights back and create a mother plant to take cuts from. Back in the day, before it was so accessible, this was pretty much the only way to go, as it insured that you were getting pure sensimilla, (barring you herming it out thru stress)

Completely legal up here, federally. Nice to live in a civilized country.
