I attended an admin workshop the other day on burnout and setting boundaries. It got a little too feelsy for me, but some people are definitely being taken advantage of and don’t advocate for themselves.

I'm not certain that was the case here, but I don't doubt it for a lot of exec assist/ admins.

OTOH, the exec assist to the CEO is a real fireball, the CEO is almost afraid to ask them to do anything for all the huffing and chuffing that comes with it. (yeah, this person is a "they/them")

Not much so far….couple gift cards ($150 total), and a luncheon later. Boss was pissy that I left a meeting on his calendar that apparently he doesn’t feel like attending today. Nevermind the fact that I’ve repeatedly asked him if he wanted me to cancel them during the quarter close window and he always says no, he’s fine. So we’ll see if he ordered me flowers and then if he did, if they end up in the trash today or tomorrow.

How has he not learned that I don’t like to be told anything about anything ever?! Fack!

Idiots in a town SW of me voted approval to increase their property taxes from $1/$1000 of value to $1.87/$1000 of value. That's an 87% increase. What would have been a $8000 tax bill jumps to $14,960 with no increased services. Fuck that shit.
