Without hesitation, we decided to paint the pantry cabinet and the over the fridge cabinet white. Until it was in place, black just seemed like the way to go but when visual reality happens, things can take on a different feeling

I think going with anything too specific immediately dates it. It’s going to be out of style in a few years. Go with something classic.

I absolutely agree! I'm leaning towards the white herring bone with black grout. Thanks for your opinion!

Change order! May want to lift that cabinet over the fridge about 4 inches while you in there.

That cracks me up! I would have liked to have all the walls painted before hanging cabinets, you know, order of operation, but I just dint have the wherewithal to get everything done in the perfect order.

Some careful painting and crown molding at the ceiling should tidy it up real nice.

Good call but I got that covered already. That hinge area on top of the fridge is actually 2 inches taller than the fridge and the right side will be open with a nice gap at the back too.

I'm gonna have to check with my crazy fur ball project manager, AKA @Bayou Tiger to see if I can get away with 2" air circulation above fridge.

The right side is open and there's a nice size gap at the back also.

I liked it better the other way. Repaint it dark again.....
