I'll bookmark this. We shall see.Nothing has come out about this in forever and UM just got a commitment from a 4 star QB for 2025.
Cracks me up how desperately OSU fans want to believe everything written on the internet. And the FBI has absolutely nothing to do with the football program -- it has to do with Weiss going into the emails of UM employees, who he was having a relationship with.
the NCAA is just getting started.big ten made a deal with them.... end the probe and we wont contest..
more juicy shit is still being hidden and won't come to light now.
I wouldn’t put the odds worst than 50/50.I'd be shocked if Harbaugh coaches at Michigan again after this season.
The punishment they actually did hand out didn't really fit the crime ... it was not enough. If it is determined that UM had access to illegally gotten signals of the other team, that is the worst thing you can do to get an edge. So, if we assume that as being true, and 3 game suspension of the HC isn't really sufficient. BUT, it's likely the best they could do in a summary action. Banning them from post-season play, and the financial ramifications of that, would likely get enjoined. Suspending the HC wasn't going to get enjoined.I'm not shocked the B1G didn't do anything else. They have to dance around TV contracts, sponsors and all of that too so it was unrealistic to expect them to totally drop the hammer. The NCAA on the other hand is not tied down in the same way the B1G as. I think it's clear the hammer is coming. Michigan probably agreed to this so they can eek through the rest of the season before everything completely all comes out.
OD hacked M&B’s account!I was right. The law firm was there to fight but Harbaugh decided to personally take the media attention away from the kids. A true hero. Now they can focus on one thing.
Most of the post-season bans I've seen in the last 5 years have pretty much been self-imposed and the NCAA just rubber-stamped it. These days that is a rubber stamp for teams that weren't going to postseason anyway. So, it will be up to the NCAA to hand out the actual punishment that fits the crime, and that could be loss of wins and post-season bans.

lol. Pete has always been against us. I’d gladly take a championship he doesn’t recognizeThe biggest punishment has already been rendered:

Paul Finebaum would refuse to recognize a national championship for Michigan
Paul Finebaum is not going to respect a championship if Michigan wins it all.www.saturdaydownsouth.com
"Patrick even asked Finebaum directly if Michigan could be a legitimate champion this season, and Finebaum does not believe so. He said he will “refuse” to recognize the Wolverines as the national champs if they win it all in 2023."
Michigan has hit rock bottom when Finbaum turns his back.
What exactly was the “crime”? Decoding signs given out in front of 50,000+ crowds and national television? Scouting a team you are going to play? Using an iPhone? The punishment they actually did hand out didn't really fit the crime ... it was not enough. This. The FBI had tapes of Clemson BBall coaching saying if you want to results you have to pay player like you are doing in football. NCAA did nothing.I wouldn’t put the odds worst than 50/50.
Some serious shit went down in basketball with the FBI involved and it was mostly assistants that got caned.
I know you want this to be tantamount to point shaving but the truth is this isn’t any worse than what the Patriots did in the NFL. There will be penalties and they will read lengthy but not anything they can’t overcome.
I’ve been on the other side of this as I was the CFO for one of the big law firms that does this work and there are two things you need to remember:
1. 90% of the stuff reported in the media is false or spun.
2. The NCAA has no real legal powers and people can lie and take whatever position they want and there is little they can do. They got the basketball schools because the FBI was involved and I don’t really see that happening here.
Lawyers are very schooled at boxing in the NCAA and their clients would rather spend millions in litigation than give in.
These days you practically have to throw yourself under the bus. The two things that will really get you now are messing with gambling and educational fraud. Everything else can swept under the rug.
This is stupid. Michigan has 0 advantage right now. they are probably at a disadvantage, because everyone will be careful with signs. If they win out, of course they deserve the title. Unless you are dumb enough to think they need the signs to beat Rutgers and the 7 dwarves they opened the season withThe biggest punishment has already been rendered:

This is simple. Big 10 promised to drop everything and STFU, if Michigan took the penalty and moved on.From my washtenaw court insider
“Sounds like it came from Warde and JH signed off on it. C&W and local attorneys are pissed”
