This topic keeps going around in circles. The reason it keeps going around in circles is the Michigan fanbase likes to omit words in the process of distracting.
The words "in-person scouting of future opponents" are those words being omitted.
Of course teams attempt to steal signs. Of course teams watch video to scout future opponents in attempt to gather information. Not a damn person here is arguing those things.
What Michigan did was "
in-person scouting of future opponents".
That is a black and white NCAA rule that Michigan broke for over two seasons, and by all appearance benefitted from the scheme.
Call it a stupid rule. Call for headsets in helmets. Blame whomever for uncovering the scheme. Blame teams for not having their signs coded well enough. IDGAF.
It doesn't take away from the rule violation.
