And crappie are pretty cool looking too. So are perch but my concern is how aggressive they might be to the goldfish.

Most of the sunfish are very territorial and aggressive especially blue gills so I read. Blue gills would re-arrange MY GREAT Re-Arrangement to suit themselves. Now if I had another or multiple large tanks, I would most definitely keep a sunfish tank!

So my plan for the top predator is the smallest species of the pickerel family, either the grass pike or the redfin pike, both only reach about 12 inches in length and top out around one pound. And pike are not aggressive acting fish. Unless they can eat you. They lurk and hide and only strike what they plan to eat.

Let me talk about my new responsibilities as the rookie Crew member, how very exciting!

I dun did submit the paperwork to apply to be the Crew Re-Cruiter, and any potential crutes that have moderate to a high level of Dunce Crafting abilities will have a leg up on the 'average' recruit, although and let me make it clear, Dunce Crafting is NOT mandatory to join the Crew!

I also hope to fill the role as Spiritual Leader for the vaunted Crew. The three of us, me, the Guide Bear and High Bishop Two Canes consult weekly on spiritual issues and I feel I would be a perfect fit for this role...

Not to be confused with 'Spirit Leader'!!!

We are on the mend, Handi, but no, not yet. Bunny still keeps her own separate bedroom and it has been 4 1/2 months since this crap started and I have ZERO desire to stay in a loveless relationship. Something MUST change. I absolutely refuse to turn into those kind of older couples that co-exist together in separate bedrooms. I want Bunny to be my best friend, soulmate and everything that goes with that.

On the other hand it's not fair to Bunny that I depend on her for pretty much everything and that is how Dr Dean and the VA are helping. The VA even has a program to help me meet new friends! I want a new friend that is a nature lover and likes to hike and fish.

And Handi, I haven't done anything so wrong with Bunny that can't be fixed, so I am optimistic about my relationship with Bunny.
 
I didn't start my wall project yesterday like I said I would. And now I know why I slept all afternoon on Saturday. Yes, I was tired from keeping late hours but I was coming down with a cold. Yesterday I felt okay early but by evening it was obvious that I was getting sick with the sniffles and such.

So I'm gonna give it a few days and when I get back to about 90%, then I can get back to work. It's nice having this luxury to loaf when needed! Sometimes we all need a lazy day or two even if we aren't sick.

Okay Friends, if any of you have any spiritual needs, in an emergency I can summon High Bishop Two Canes without a wait!

sounds like you are gaining perspective. That’s great. It’s hard to have perspective when events just happen and are “raw”. I would say just continue to asses things as they happen. Try not to get too high with the highs or too lows with the lows. Just be open to whatever happens and then make the best decision for you.

The toughest part about that is I still have to be ready in case things don't improve. Living with uncertainty in a living arrangement is unpleasant and I am doing things with optimism for the near future and I think Bunny is beginning to feel the same. Thanks Padre!

Any ole way, I put hinges on the left hood after dinner last night and this morning I will do the same to the right hood and now I won't need to slide the hood completely off the tank to gain access. My cold isn't so bad that I can still easily do light duty work... But it still SUCKS! All stuffy and cruddy...

My Tank, gall dang it, it is amazing. It's so big. It demands attention. And when the plants finally take off, it will be stunning.

My brother in Ohio has a much bigger tank than mine, almost three times more gallons than mine, although it is the same length as mine at 8 feet. His is a few inches taller and 4 feet deep from front to back. However, when he built his house he built his tank in a wall.

So his tank lacks the 'presence' that my tank has so much of! (hehehe!) Joe's tank is a saltwater reef tank.
