It’s so dumb. West coast limp wrists will never appreciate a 1/4 mile flat track.

There already exists a 1/4 mile flat track that goes around a football field that NASCAR used to race on back in the 60’s. Bowman Gray. Former home of Wake Forest football, current home of Winston-Salem State football.

But, really it’s too small for stock cars. Those tracks are best used for late models

Nobody got stopped in that place so… maybe a checkered flag will?…

It’s gonna be an incredibly narrow racing grove with speeds that probably won’t get over 90 and the only way to pass will be to use the bumper

how many cars do they even have in a race with such a short track

I think there’s gonna be a little over 20, which is still too much IMO. Just an exhibition race, but if you want to show off for SoCal, get a high banked half mile with a full field.

They already have Sonoma and Fontana, this seems a little too gimmicky

Martinsville west
Martinsville is a half mile and it works. Realistically, a half mile is the smallest track you can expect a full field of stock cars, even back in the day, the quarter mile tracks would have smaller fields

They turned Fontana into a short track, which is good, because they wanted to expanded to SoCal, but gave them the worst race track(racing wise) in NASCAR history with that 2 mile abomination.

I really like Sonoma though, and I've liked it in every layout they've ran.

I'll give NASCAR some credit though. The fans have been calling for more road courses and short tracks, and those are what dominate the schedule now. Far less cookie cutter races. And Darlington got its second race back, and there's talks of renovating North Wilkesboro and going back there in the future.

That a good midget size race track.

We have a better track in Senoia

I hope NASCAR learned their lessons. They should have never gone to so many of the "cloned" so called "modern" long tracks where they just mainly drive around in circles. Yeah the speeds were greater but it wasn't that exciting of racing IMHO. Kids/grands live real close to Texas Motor Speedway but I won't even go there anymore. I'd rather go visit the local dirt tracks than those monsters.
