What did you get for Christmas?

I just switched to 6-strings in September. Prior to that I had played bass for a long time, but I finally realized I hated playing bass and I wasn't actually any good at it. I bought both those guitars about a week apart off Craigslist

I started learning about 14 or so years ago, but that really only lasted less than two years. The Tele stayed in the case ever since save for a week here or there over the years. My cousin is the one with all the talent and has been playing for close to 25 years at this point. Nothing like watching him pick up an old vinyl for a couple bucks and learn every song by ear over a couple days. I so hate him.

I like margaritas when we go to the beach. That's when I buy some of the cheapest handles I can find and add it to the buckets of mix to throw in the fridge since I like them on the rocks, not frozen. Then head to the sand with a yeti cup that keeps getting refilled.

May occasionally have one while out at a Mexican restaurant, but typically order negra modelo instead.

46 is nice, but Four Roses and Henry McKenna single barrels are my favorites at the under $50 price points

The wife bought me a cigar to go along with that bourbon.......it will be a nice combo.....

Cigars and bourbon around a fire pit was always a good way to end a day after a round of golf and steaks with a few buddies. Something I'm looking forward to doing again once this crap is over.

Mr. Kobe got me a mug that has Kobe’s last play on it, an instant read meat thermometer, and a mushroom foraging kit. He knocked it out of the park this year.

40 yrs same job.......Glad to finally be able to kick back ans enjoy the rezt of life at 58 yrs old......

No more alarm clock for me......lol
Awesome! Congrats! And well-earned!

In addition to the chest freezer, my mom gave me $500, a silver coin (tradition, that will probably be passed down once grandkids arrive), some gloves, socks, sweats, and masks. Brother got me some ProV's and a spice rack.

I was a shot of Cuervo type of guy in my younger days, but now its Patron.....

Wife n I like our Margaritas........

I m not a bourbon type of guy either,so its gonna take me a very long time to get rid of the MakersMark 46.....lol
Patron is good stuff.

I tried some Four Roses once and I hated it. Was really bummed because lots of guys on here have raved about it. No sure if I got a bad bottle/batch or something

The single? I probably wouldn't drunk the regular straight, but it's goodb with mixers. The single is one of my stand bys, though

Oh I envy guys like that. I have a decent ear but it's not perfect, and I need to read the Tab in order to pick up a new song. I had started to learn some lead-rhythm back in college but because I didn't make myself practice, I didn't really develop. Today, I have the time, money, and the stubbornness to really learn. I've picked up at least one of my guitars almost every day since I bought them, just taken a rare day here and there to let my fingers rest.

A big reason I got the stand is because I want them to be out/available, then it's not any trouble to pick one up even for 15 minutes. If they stay in the cases/closet, they'll never get played.

A new Laz-E-Boy, Screwball whiskey, a bag full of shooters, a new toothbrush, some range gear including a S&W M&P backpack to put it in, and a BJ by the X-Mas tree.
I think you got one of my presents by mistake

The regular isn't bad to drink neat, but it's like Jim or Jack to me and are better suited to be mixed.

Four Roses Single Barrel is really nice and I can always get it at my local ABC store. Henry McKenna and Blantons always seem to be sold out by the time I get there, but if it is, I'll grab one each time.

Honestly can't remember...it was the only bottle of Four Roses this particular store had. It tasted really raw, like wild turkey or Beam, which is totally fine if that's what I'm expecting/paid for. I remember this bottle being more expensive and I was disappointed. It was on the higher shelf with the better stuff.

Just did a quick image search and I believe what I had was the Yellow Label:

Exactly, the one I had tasted just like Jim, Jack, or Turkey. Again, those are all fine (especially to mix) but they also have a lower price. If you're going to jack up the cost, it needs to be a bit better or I'm just going to stick with the crappy stuff I know

Surprisingly, Evan Williams Single Barrel is pretty decent.

Yep, I'll keep at least one of mine out on a stand for now on. Out of sight and out of mind. This way you'll see it and feel guilty if you don't pick it up for even a few minutes. Much like getting rid of all the junk food and stocking the fridge with vegetables. If it's available, it's a lot easier to stick to it.

Plan to work on losing the Covid 19 or so weight I put on after losing 70 pounds the previous year and 3 months prior to March. Get back into a workout routine and some guitar playing to hopefully stick to. Finished off all my homebrew beer this weekend and just have a half a handle of Evan Williams white label remaining for now and until New Year's, then I need to detox for at least a month. Covid has greatly increased my tolerance and I need to cut back.
