something happened when they visited WV in 2000.. they honored the home and home but they said they'd never schedule them again.. and it's been 21 years and counting since they played in football

That kind of shit was happening in the '50's too. OU signed its first black player in 1956 and Prentice Gautt made everyone a believer. OU was on a road trip in buses and they stopped at a roadside restaurant to eat. The restaurant said the team was welcome but the 4 black players would have to eat on the bus. The team just got back on the bus and they found someplace else down the road. Fuckin' ridiculous, man.

Just some history:
When former Sooners coach Bud Wilkinson was pressured against giving Gautt a scholarship, a group of black doctors and pharmacists gave him money to attend the school. Within a year, Gautt had a scholarship and the donated money was given to another black student. Gautt then became a two-time All-Big Eight player and the 1959 Orange Bowl MVP. His senior year, he was named to the Academic All-American team.

The Pac12 should dump Cal-Stanford and then merge with Big12. Cal-Stanford liberal/academic snobbery probably didn't help the league as it prevented them from adding valuable brands in the area like BYU. Cal-Stanford would fit well in the WCC.
 
I think WVU is fucked, tbh. there are quite a few ACC teams that should be much more appealing to both the Big Ten and SEC than WVU. UNC, NCSU, UVa, VT, Clemson, FSU, Miami. Possibly GT as well.

on the topic of regional rivalries, i probably would be more into UNCC sports if they played in the same conference as App State, ECU, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Old Dominion, etc.
 
There's an article behind a paysite from Washington that's saying that pac 12 and big 12 are meeting this week and 4 current pac schools are looking to move to the Big12

Supposedly these are Utah, Colorado, and the Arizona schools. Maybe the loser of the UW/UO BIG sweepstakes joins in.

I remember last year when the Pac thought about raiding some of the Big 12 leftovers. I thought it was a smart move for them to pick up 2-4 decent CST games per week and IMO being able to have games on for 12+ hours would add a lot of value. But we weren't good enough apparently.

My my how things have changed.

Better days lad, better days. I miss when the Big 8 schools were all together. The Big 12 feels more alien all the time.

Definitely a good amount of satisfaction seeing some pretentious schools pretending to give a shit by refusing to play games at certain schools, even if those schools had jack shit to do with shitty laws and are overwhelmingly opposed by the student body and alums, be forced to grovel.

If the B1G doesn’t move on other PAC teams now then that signals they are just waiting on ACC schools.

If the B1G and SEC stand pat then the chances of the ACC surviving goes down each year we get closer to 2036.
