What Is Your Thanksgiving Menu?

What's a parsnip? that sounds like some kind of Yankee weed that a cat would like.
Miserable root vegetable, like a carrot with little flavor and none of the fun. I doubt even cats would enjoy them. Wasn’t my call.

This year it is at my house and there will be 23 people and the menu is:

Smoked Turkey - stuffed with apples with apple juice in the pan for moisture and it will be perfection
Honey Baked Ham
Mac & Cheese
Greenbean Casserole
Collard Greens
Oyster dressing
Boiled Cabbage
Mashed potatoes
Sweet potato Casserole
Homemade rolls
Cranberry sauce (it will be done two ways because no one can agree on one)
Strawberry Jello Pretzel Salad
Chocolate torte
Coconut cake
Carrot cake
Pecan Pie
Egg Custard Pie
Pumpkin Pie

I'm sure there will be some other stuff but that is the majority of it.

23 people? I hope you have more than 1 turkey.

And WTF is Strawberry Jello Pretzel Salad?

Hmmmm ... I wonder which dish you'll be making?!?

Brisket
Fried Turkey
Smoked sausage
Mac and cheese
Mashed potatoes
Corn pudding
Asparagus with mushrooms
Pies

Aw, man ... I should make my grandmother's corn pudding, which I do many years, but this year I'm not having dinner at my place, and the instructions were "non-traditional green bean dish," which presumably means, "don't make the green beans everyone makes with the mushroom soup and those onions in a can."
The last 5 things on your list sound perfect, though. In fact, just mac and cheese, corn pudding, and asparagus with mushrooms sounds like a pretty killer meal any night!

Chicken & Dumplings
Smoked turkey
Ham
Dressing
Mashed Potatoes/Gravy
MacnCheese
Etc...

Mom's chicken and dumplings with dressing is unparalleled.

Roast turkey breast
Chicken broth dressing
Scalloped corn
Raw cauliflower and carrots with cheeseball
Mashed golden taters
gravy
2 types cranberry sauce(not for me)
Large sausage, cheese and cracker plate for before, during and after
Apple crisp, lemon meringue, and pumpkin pies

I’m actually not making anything and my wife makes the cranberry and strawberry salad. Most of these dishes were claimed by people before I was born and if anyone attempts to change things up there is a riot.

So I clean, put up tables, provide plates, silver and beverages. I offered to smoke a brisket or pork butt and was told no. My father in law does the turkey and he kills it every year so he will be dead before I take that over.
