My new puppy’s favorite toy is an old sock. Might get her some dress socks for Christmas. She’s so sweet, it breaks my heart that my beagle is still being such a jealous douche

It’s probably a different thread, but there are some things a person should just have even though they aren’t going to be used often. Dress socks are one. A tie. Pants that aren’t jeans. Dress shoes. Invest in a “I’m going to a wedding/funeral“ outfit.

The next funeral I go to will be my own. All that stuff is wasted.

Don’t have a tie and will never have one. I have pants that aren’t jeans, but actually own no blue jeans. Don’t have dress shoes. They come with a tuxedo rental, and if I’m not part of the wedding, the black cowboy boots that cost more than most dress shoes are good enough

Spent 600 bucks on em. Hell, these worn out lace up steel toes I’m wearing now cost 200 when they were new, but the company covered 150 of it

And it’s hifalutin. One word, no hyphen

A place with a dress code will just love it if you tell them how expensive your not up to code apparel is :wink:

OK, so my general comment about that experience has never happened to you. I'll check you off the list.

But let's address that anyway... I rarely if ever choose such a place. But I don't know if I'd want to be in the position where I might be forced to say "no" every time someone else was picking the place. There are potentially plenty of important events that aren't black tie, no? It just seems like if I didn't already have them, eventually I'd get invited to something that would require me to buy them anyway.
 
Mildly off topic, but I am due for some new work boots. Gotta be steel toed and lace up. These Ariats have been good, but they’ve about had it. We get a 150 dollar boot allowance every year, but I’ve passed up on it the last two. Y’all got any suggestions? I’m leaning towards the same model of Ariat since they’re comfortable and last longer than most boots do at a place like this, but I’m open to suggestions. My feet get wet walking through wet grass now. Put it off too long.

I ain’t gonna knock you, I’m just saying, that scenario ain’t happening to me. Hell, you’re probably gonna have to go to Atlanta to find a place like that and I can be in Copper Hill, TN or Murphy, NC faster than I can be in Atlanta. If I’m going that way, it’s too a Braves game, and there’s a mechanical Bull at the Battery
