But for the record, what use would a man that works at a mine, always wears boots and overalls and never has visible socks(only wear shorts when swimming) have for dress socks?

Even for funerals and the like, I wear a 600 dollar pair of shiny black Tony Lama cowboy boots. I’m probably gonna have to buy some dress socks for this next wedding since I’ll be the best man, but after that they’ll get put in a drawer and I won’t remember where they are and probably never wear them again

Put a bar of soap in them and carry them in the truck

I guess not, I just don’t really see the use, and I’d never be able to find them if I did need them
